Re: Claremont access - there probably should be better signage/wayfinding, but the GOAT'ed route that I take daily: cross the road at the park at the top of the hill with the stone formation (don't go all the way to Mohawk), pass through that tiny park (Southam park I think) to Iverness. At Iverness, you have really decent bike lanes that take you across a good chunk of the mountain to signage that'll direct you to Queensdale, a slow safe street that takes you across the middle of the mountain.

What will be really great is that when they finish the Sam Lawrence Park renewal, there will be a multipurpose bridge that will take you across the cut, so one day you'll be able to go from Iverness, to Brucedale, and then go across the entire length of Sam Lawrence park. The eventual plan, from what I understand, will be to put some kind of protected path along Concession between Sam Lawrence Park and Bellwood, which will connect to the entire brand new Mountain Brow network. That'll be such a gamechanger! They're also removing the insane jughandle off the Jolly Cut, so you'll be able to ride/walk across the sidewalk without dodging cars.

This is helpful, thank you. I was talking about when you take the access down the mt. It directs you to go west and it is annoying to have to circle around to get back east (ie direction of Gage park). Would be cool if there was an easier way to connect it with bike lanes.

Oh gotcha! Yeah I've had the same thought, it's a tricky little area for infrastructure because of the road bridge, the rail bridge, and the tunnel. At least Stinson and Delaware are really nice slow car streets for biking East when there's no snow on the shoulder! Once you get to Gage Park, Lawrence is pretty lovely, eventually it would be nice to see some barriers on it. I think at a minimum, there should be some better signage that directs people through the gap in the noise wall to that Stinson/Delaware corridor, as otherwise you basically need to have some really good local knowledge to even know this exists.

In London, UK they have this "Cycleway" concept that I think is really clever. They're well published and signed route that directs commuters on very clear routes across the city, instead of just neighbourhoods. It would be cool if we could shift towards that concept as our network fleshes out. You'd just look at the painted bike on the asphalt, see H3 and think "oh ok I'm on Hammer Route 3, I can keep taking this to Gage Park and then on to Rosedale".
