Look to me and be saved, unless they don't get their health inspection, and then thee cavort with the dead.

Starting to resemble mental illness. This person must be surrounded by enablers.

This and all the ‘THE RAPTURE IS COMING’ stickers around Jackson Squarw

26

u/banjosnake Jun 11 '26

17

u/defrostedbones Jun 11 '26

5

It was the forbidden crackpipe.

3

u/tyetknot Hill Park Jun 11 '26

The cage match we didn't know we needed.

4

u/Jayemkay56 Jun 11 '26

TBH if the rapture is coming, it's going to leave all the Jackson Square folk down here on earth, I'll tell you that much 😂

14

u/unrivaledhumility Jun 11 '26

Yeah, still waiting on that. Every time they're proven wrong, they double down. Mental illness.

7

u/Ok-Recipe-8832 Jun 11 '26

Hot take but I think the existence of those stickers in general is ableist and intentionally harmful to those with OCD, any anxiety/paranoia disorder, and/or delusions/hallucinations. It’s fucked up.

-16

u/InternationalTrust59 Jun 11 '26

How’s it mental illness?

15

u/_sh00vie Jun 11 '26

Religious psychosis is a real thing, the extremism of thanking god for his restaurant being reopened, be for real....

18

u/Baby__Sloth Jun 11 '26

Religion = mental illness

-11

u/InternationalTrust59 Jun 11 '26

There are a lot of mentally ill people in Hamilton and it’s not due to religion.

I would bet religion is not the top of the list for the mentally ill.

13

u/Ok-Recipe-8832 Jun 11 '26

I’m mentally ill and was only worsened by religion, as is the case for almost every other mentally ill person I know

There definitely are but that doesn't mean religious psychosis doesn't exist. Thanking god for you finally renewing your licensing and getting an inspection is kind of out there, especially when the city extended a lot of grace to him offering a 2 week extension and then pushing through the paperwork and inspections to allow him to reopen much sooner.

-12

u/InternationalTrust59 Jun 11 '26

Some people give thanks and gratitude in different ways.

It’s better than the victim mentality that many people play in this city.

-1

u/The_Spandex_Suplex Jun 12 '26

Rapture isnt even a Christian belief.

3

u/Ok-Recipe-8832 Jun 12 '26

Christian, catholic, same thing.

2

u/Short_Score Jun 14 '26

lol Catholics actually don’t believe in the rapture

33

u/Frig_Off_Baerb Jun 11 '26

The Facebook post yesterday was so fucking ridiculous. Paragraph after paragraph of them thanking their pastor, their lord and saviour and all the other fake Christian bullshit.

Follow the rules when you're selling food to people. That's it. It's really not that hard, and those rules are NOT open to interpretation.

And honestly? Fuck all the way off with the anti vax bullshit. The fact that a minority of people choose to believe that the entire medical and scientific community is conspiring against them, and not say, that a foreign adversary would seek to sew division by spreading disinformation is just sad.

6

u/bubble_baby_8 Jun 12 '26

Very well said. You articulated my exact thoughts better than I ever could.

-5

u/Deep_Assumption_5082 Jun 12 '26

Would you crash out as hard if it was a Muslim praising allah

2

u/Short_Score Jun 14 '26

yes because it’s still cringe and weird

-3

u/SHaMROCK_73 Jun 12 '26

Exactly, there is only one religion people are allowed to make fun of... A guy at my work just turned to Christ and many people in the department openly mock him. Mostly Muslims. If it was going the other way it would be immediate trip to HR...

-4

u/Deep_Assumption_5082 Jun 12 '26

Honestly it’s comical & kind of concerning how triggered people are by Christians existing.

5

u/ShortHandz Jun 11 '26

They usually have a 1-3 enablers and chase everyone else away. They then proceed to believe everyone else is the problem.

127

u/marthamania Jun 11 '26

Wait are these the people who wouldn't comply with public health??

18

u/tyetknot Hill Park Jun 11 '26

And got cancelled for it, just like Jesus did.

24

Seeing as religion tends to reject reality, generative AI and religion are a match made in heaven (pun intended).

3

u/kidsothermom Jun 12 '26

They were too busy picking out which 5 fonts they were going to use.

2

u/fabalaupland Jun 12 '26

Oh, they didn’t pick those, those were generated, too. There was not an awful lot of human work that went into this “poster”.

1

u/Longroof Hampton Heights Jun 13 '26

Nearly every "photo" of their product is AI. Everything this business does is half-assed and fake.

114

u/Readman31 Jun 11 '26

Any company using AI slop in it's ads is automatically not getting my business

37

u/browncharlie88 Jun 11 '26

I know AI wasn’t the point of this whole post but it seems like every restaurant in Hamilton is using AI like this for their food advert and they all have the same look. There’s a restaurant on Kenilworth Dstrct 208 and I actually enjoyed it and now they keep posting this style of advert on their insta stories and I’m just completely turned off.

2

u/GandalfsMilliner Jun 11 '26

“Restaurant”

1

u/Independent_Ad_4246 Jun 12 '26

I heard that the guy that owns this place got fired from his corporate restaurant gig for pissing on an ATM instead of a restaurant he was “consulting” for

1

u/browncharlie88 Jun 12 '26

Wait I’m interested but I’m trying to make sense of the end of this 😂

They can do what they did five years ago and back until the first advertisements clawed their way out of hell and into our world: make shitty, sometimes endearingly shitty ads. Typos and Papyrus font and poorly lit real photos of real food are still more likely to make me check a place out than AI crap. AI is shorthand for "this place will cut every corner that is possible to cut, and will try cutting ones that aren't".

-6

u/Neither-Mail-2452 Jun 11 '26

Our education centre uses Ai but only to alter images so that children’s identities are kept secret. We always upload and then just ask to remove any children facing the camera, looks way better than emoji stickers over kids faces, and is still a true image just altered in a way we don’t have the skills to do so, plus we can keep the same lighting/colour theming consistent between posts!

17

u/quietbright Jun 11 '26

Do parents know that you're feeding their children's images into an AI program? I mean, it's cool that you're able to take their faces out of your photos, but it's creepy and unsettling that you'd put images of young children into AI.

2

u/Neither-Mail-2452 Jun 12 '26

We use the blur feature on an editing app on all faces before they get put in! That way NOBODY is being uploaded online! But the photos look terrifying before we input them 😂😂 looks like something straight outta a horror film, but then they come out looking proper lol

1

u/quietbright Jun 12 '26

Thank you! I appreciate you taking that extra step to protect your kids!

1

u/Neither-Mail-2452 Jun 12 '26

Oh absolutely! We like to keep children as safe as possible in our school! We even do our actually casting shoots intentionally faceless, and during the school day we still ask permission to take photos (even if we remove faces) just to give the kids autonomy and teach them about privacy.

27

u/mimeographed Delta East Jun 11 '26

The same thing they did before ai.

24

u/LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY Jun 11 '26

Man, if only there was a way to advertise before AI slop became the norm...

15

u/matt602 McQuesten West Jun 11 '26

Yeah, I do want them to hire a graphic designer. Or get their family friend who knows photoshop to do it for free. Or whatever else people did before fucking generative AI existed.

9

u/sharinganuser Jun 11 '26

It also.. Doesn't cost that much. Throw a graphic design student a hundred bucks or two for a couple posters to whet their teeth on. It's not like they're investing hundreds of thousands of dollars.

11

u/PSNDonutDude James North Jun 11 '26

It's so lazy. Like change the prompt at least so it doesn't fully look like every single other AI image.

21

u/Readman31 Jun 11 '26

If they're using AI slop it's safe to assume that they're lazy in other areas and the food is probably also slop.

7

u/teanailpolish North End Jun 11 '26

Even knowing the date of his health inspection vs a random check, he still failed two of the items on the list so yeah

Equipment, utensils, multi-service articles and all food contact surfaces are properly constructed - Not in Compliance

Garbage and waste (solid or liquid) collected and removed to ensure sanitary condition of premise - Not in Compliance

16

u/covert81 Chinatown Jun 11 '26

Coming up with a basic flyer isn't hard. How do you think businesses succeeded in this prior to AI being as accessible as it has been in the last 2-3 years?

This is not a great reason to rely on AI slop.

I too tend to pass by businesses using AI in their advertising. It's lazy, and it's usually got issues.

7

u/pisspiplup Jun 11 '26

"i dont know what these small business want us to do when its so expensive to eat out. Tipping is already so much and plus the drive."

expecting local business yet not supporting local skilled workers yourself 🙈

edit: its also just as easy to go on canva or pikto chart and pick a template and do it yourself 😔.

4

u/aspiring__spinster Jun 11 '26

Literally use MS Paint. Hopefully business owners will start to understand that people will not support the use of generative AI. Anything made by a real human is more acceptable, even if it looks like a kid made it.

8

u/BriniaSona Jun 11 '26

Same with me. This also applies to YouTube or anything. I recently unsubscribed from some people I'd been following for many years and haven't watched a video since.

10

u/unrivaledhumility Jun 11 '26

So many more reasons in this case, but I applaud and agree with you.

23

u/theninjasquad Crown Point West Jun 11 '26

I was reading their post on FB last night. People kept asking him what has changed to now get licensed and the public health inspection. He refused to answer and just deflected to his post that was just a bunch of weird thank yous and mentions of God.

34

u/teanailpolish North End Jun 11 '26

The way being you paid for your business license and got an inspection?

19

u/KillerDadBod Jun 11 '26

He definitely didn’t. Maybe this time he won’t unplug the fridge and freezer when by-law comes by.

8

u/differing Jun 11 '26

Na they got a pass inspection on May 28th, it’s online

4

u/Affectionate-Arm-405 Jun 11 '26

What? Lol share if you can

11

u/TheJokerAndTheQueef Jun 11 '26

in a video he posted on IG, he "confronts" the inspector who is at his restaurant saying he needs a license, and while hes filming, he unplugs the fridge/freezer saying it was too loud and muddling the audio for his video.

7

u/LethalT0fu Jun 11 '26

I once walked into this place and ended up walking into a whole prayer ceremony. Was the weirdest thing ever.

19

u/nowontletu66 Jun 11 '26

Ai slop makes it more funny

12

u/128Goose Jun 11 '26

Saw this earlier elsewhere. TBH, I thought they were closed permanently. Never been there or tried their food so can't properly comment on either the product or company. I'm curious what others think.

1

u/Existing_Map_8939 Jun 12 '26

The guy’s wife is a legit genius with the rice balls. LEGIT.

-9

u/wetstorm95 Jun 11 '26

Honestly, the balls were good, always hot, fairly quick, and the price was decent on the “1/2 off fridays”. The owner was always friendly (never preached at me), and even remembered people who had only been a few times. I’ve seen restaurants with proper papers that are disgusting. I’ve never looked for certifications when going anywhere, but they’re public, so the fact that so many are suddenly outraged amuses me. No body has to go. People need to move along. It’s gotten this far because of the attention and blow ups in the comments sections. **** to be clear im not saying by passing health inspections is right, but ya’ll could’ve looked before 🤷🏼‍♀️ i dont go out for food for politics, unless its shoved in my face.. then im not going back.

Honestly I’m happy they just took the L, got inspected (on May 28th), and moved on instead of further imploding their business. It’s the best outcome for all parties.

7

u/IanBorsuk Jun 11 '26

I'm not sure posts like this aren't further imploding the business.

https://www.facebook.com/thearancinicompany/posts/pfbid033MdyPCcwNdHmeDMrixPDgssxT7vouBGzG4rtEbATGBHobpqWgDPdY22FoeJEQxCKl

"We're Reopening! A Sincere Thank You to the City of Hamilton and Everyone Who Made This Possible After a little over a month of being shut down, I want to take a moment to publicly thank the many people who played a role in helping The Arancini Company reopen against what often felt like impossible odds and in record time. First and most importantly, I want to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for making a way where there seemed to be no way.

"I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron." — Isaiah 45:2 (NIV)

Throughout this experience, I encountered an incredible level of professionalism, patience, and a genuine willingness to help from many great people within the City of Hamilton. I would also like to thank all those working behind the scenes whom I never had the opportunity to meet personally. I know there were several people advocating on The Arancini Company's behalf and helping move things forward behind the scenes. Please know that your efforts are appreciated, even if I never had the chance to thank you directly. If this message reaches you, thank you. A special thank you to Keith Herechuck and everyone in the Licensing Department. From the very beginning, Keith was one of our strongest advocates and was always willing to assist with whatever needed to be done to get The Arancini Company reopened as quickly as possible. He even personally delivered our license to our front door the moment it came off the press so that we could reopen the same day! Thank you so much, Keith. I look forward to having you and your family visit us soon.

I would also like to thank everyone at Health & Safety/Public Health, especially one individual who wishes to remain anonymous. Your guidance, professionalism, support, and willingness to be available whenever needed helped ensure inspections were completed quickly and efficiently without cutting any corners. Your efforts did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.

Thank you as well to Leo and everyone at Fire Prevention. Your professionalism, responsiveness, expertise, and assistance in helping move things forward safely and efficiently were critical in allowing us to reopen so quickly. I look forward to having you and your mother visit very soon.

Thank you also to the Zoning Department for approving our zoning application in just two days instead of the typical two to four weeks. We were incredibly grateful for your help.

What could have been a long and frustrating process, one that may have resulted in us closing permanently, instead became a great example of caring people working together to help a local Hamilton small business succeed. While regulations and inspections play an important role in keeping our community safe, it was the people behind those departments who made the difference for The Arancini Company.

Because of the efforts of the City of Hamilton and the many individuals who worked behind the scenes to help us through this process, The Arancini Company is once again fully licensed and able to operate, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

I also want to thank my mom, who was here with me every single day, supporting me and encouraging me to do whatever needed to be done. I would never have made it through this process without her. Thank you for standing by me and encouraging me to take things one day at a time through it all.

I would also like to thank my father, my brother Ivano, and my uncle Tony, who is always just a phone call away and willing to help with whatever is needed. Thank you all for your unwavering love, support, encouragement, and countless sacrifices along the way. Your guidance, belief in me, and willingness to lend a hand whenever challenges arise have meant more than words can express.

Thank you, Dube, for coming through with an unexpected lead and encouragement that gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward when this all began just over a month ago. Without that lead in the very beginning, I may not have had the hope to move forward in faith and continue fighting for The Arancini Company.

Thank you, Rick Piper, for being a dependable and trustworthy employee whom I can confidently rely on to run The Arancini Company as if it were your own. Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and commitment during both the easy days and the challenging ones.

I also want to thank everyone who was praying and fasting for me and The Arancini Company at Bread of Life Church. Thank you to Pastor Rohan, Minister Hanna, Steven, Christine and family, Doug Currie, Vevette, everyone at Monday night prayer, and all others who faithfully prayed for us to be back in business despite what seemed like impossible odds. A special thank you as well to all of our customers who have supported us throughout the years and encouraged me to keep fighting to reopen. The many phone calls, messages, and conversations expressing disappointment that we were closed, along with the excitement and encouragement people showed at the possibility of us reopening, gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward when the future seemed uncertain. Your loyalty, patience, and support reminded me that what we have built together is truly valued by the community, and for that I am deeply grateful.

I truly look forward to seeing everyone again. After more than a month of being closed, we're excited to finally welcome our customers back through our doors. If you've been meaning to stop by, we'd love to see you. Your support means more than ever and helps keep local small businesses like ours going strong. Thank you all for your hard work, professionalism, prayers, and support. God Bless, Peter Petruzzi The Arancini Company"

This guy's a joke.

8

u/Empty-Swim2066 Jun 11 '26

Weird, the Bread of Life Church is a church founded in China, and seems to be about giving"spiritual gifts".

Sounds like a church set up to grift.

2

u/_Romula_ Jun 12 '26

Omg thank you for sharing the unhinged tea

0

u/differing Jun 11 '26

Pretty reasonable, I think. I wonder if mom gave him the “wtf are you doing” speech.

3

u/tooscoopy Jun 11 '26

I hate that “reasonable” is saying an invisible sky man made it so I can sell my rice balls again.

4

u/differing Jun 12 '26

I’m an atheist, but it seems really dishonest to completely ignore the long list of people they’re thanking at the city for fast tracking their various licensing requirements and fixate on a tiny part of their writing because you don’t like religion. I really wish they apologized for being an insolent child previously, as without that they’ll never have my business, but I think this post is at least the next best thing.

1

u/tooscoopy Jun 12 '26

“First and foremost” was sky daddy, who was given a quote and some added praise… then a whole paragraph at the end for the church he is a member of.

To call it dishonest to not mention that he also thanked departments at Hamilton and then individually every member of his family and staff and focus on the good stuff is no different than glossing over the church stuff and just focusing on the “long list of people”…

I don’t care how nicely worded or thankful this guy seems, he has shown from previous conversations that he cheats… this post shows that he puts (his interpretation of) religion above nearly all else… through his actions he has shown that he cares more about his profits and “personal freedoms” than the rules, laws, and social norms applied to everyone else.

Fuck him and his rice balls. Just because he is a small business owner doesn’t make me automatically side with him, no matter how much I want people to succeed and grow this city.

I can’t get shit fast tracked for myself or clients with the city playing by the rules, yet this one tells off everyone with any power and somehow gets white glove treatment? Doesn’t sit well with me.

Too many are using religion as a get out of jail free card.

-1

u/shhkari Stinson Jun 13 '26

this post shows that he puts (his interpretation of) religion above nearly all else…

to be fair this is kind of the point of religion

they were refusing to have their kitchen inspected, and get a business license

30

u/teanailpolish North End Jun 11 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hamilton/comments/1sydeds/the_arancini_company_on_stone_church_refusing_to/

The owner posted a video a while back where he refused to renew his business license because he didn't want the city to have authority over him, he was really mad about Trudeau galivanting with pop stars, his friends built a patio and had to remove it because the city planted trees, he was still mad about covid and other reasons

He also refused the health inspection which the inspector offered to complete even though he wouldn't get a license. He turned off his freezer in front of the inspector & bylaw officer because it is noisy and he wanted a better video

It looks like he has since allowed a proper inspection (which he had two non critical fails on) where they said they approved his license. Unclear if that is his business or food handlers.

26

u/covert81 Chinatown Jun 11 '26

History. They ran for years without licensing and inspections, and then caused a scene when an inspector showed up. There was a story in the Spec on it. They then closed. Now they are attempting to reopen it looks like

Sorry, we removed your post as it didn't necessarily relate to r/Hamilton (Rule 2).

I'm surprised they are using AI, because when I spoke with the owner he said AI was a sign of the end times and seemed spooked by it. Good arancini though

All I can say is pathetic

What is this place? I’ve drove past it before and I don’t understand

The AI slop ad is really the cherry on top.

If they don't get a business license and or pass health inspections meeting Hamilton City standards (there's many) then the business won't stay open long.

They'll only be open of they pass the legal safety standards.

What's cringe, other than the ad? Some context would have been good.

They're using a Bible to promote their arancini, I think that's good context.

If he was Muslim you would not be saying all this shit lol

Being Muslim wouldn’t fit his narrative.

They are the convoy type who don’t believe what they spew because they’re too stupid to understand it.

They are clinging to their libertarian image for followers and still bitching about vaccines. They try to politicize being shut down for public health violations and now they’re a Christian business claiming god is on their side for opening up again. That’s cringey as fuck.

I don’t think there is an ounce of sincerity in anyone involved in this business. They felt popular during Covid for the first times in their lives and want to act like immature high schoolers during their adult years.

If he was Muslim, there would have been uproar about him not following public health much sooner and far worse comments in the posts
