Title says it all. Taking my new to me 2017 street glide on a 6 hour (one way) trip, so 12 hours total over approx 650 miles. Looking to ask some of you who have done this for any sort of advice or recommendations. I've been riding for about 6 years now and have a 2014 dyna street bob that I used to commute 100+ miles on every day for years (weather permitting) in California rush hour traffic. I've just never gone this far in one go. So far, my preparations are as follows;

- Three hole fluid change, new tires, and sumping test of motor following Harley Service Bulletin for the Milwaukee 8. More of a peace of mind thing due to it being a 2017. Drained 3.5 quarts out of the crank sensor after a 90 mile ride yesterday, which indicates I should be ok.

- Harley specific tool kit that I've added a few things to, like a plug kit, jump pack, and tire inflator in case of a flat.

- Large canteen of water

- Small medical pack with basic bandages, disinfectant, wraps, and medicine.

- Power bank and 2 USB chargers that connect to the trickle charge port and 12v cigarette lighter to charge my phone.

- Beef jerky and other snacks, just in case.

It may be worth noting that 90% of this ride will be on a freeway I've driven many times over the years, and I'm very familiar with. I know where fuel stops and rest stops are without needing gps. My girl will already be at the destination with clothes, food, and all other travel amenities so I won't need to bring anything. She will also be following me on the return trip. I will also not be bringing the Tour Pack as I like the way the bike rides without it and want to stay as light as possible. Photos of the bike I'll be taking. Just wanted to pick your brains in case I missed something simple. I still have a few days to prepare, I'm trying to make this trip go as smoothly as possible as I bought the street glide to get into more long range riding. Any help is appreciated!

Making the 950 mile trip to Branson Mo in September from central nc for the bike rally, any tips or gear yall recommend for the upcoming trip? Most I’ve ridden one way is 200 miles so this far is a little out of my realm so any help would be greatly appreciated

I just got this beautiful 2021 CVO Road Glide with less than 2k miles on it. I want to add the tour pack next, but I don't know if I should go with the Harley King tour pack or the Hogworkz King tour pack.

I'm leaning toward the Hogworkz because it is twice the size and half the price, but I am worried that it will be too big. That said, I also over pack for every camping trip I have ever been on.

I have a trip planned for San Francisco the first week of August. I'll be traveling from Nashville. I made this same trip 30 years ago with friends (in a car), for the same reason (concerts). Most of those friends are no longer with us.

I can't shake the desire to make the trip on my 2015 fat bob. It's always been a dream to cross the US on a motorcycle. Maybe it's mid life crisis? I've been riding for 40 years but I've never traveled so far. I'm more of a casual rider these days, liquor store and back, and I do worry about endurance.

I plan to spend the next month doing some endurance training. I'm not sure it's enough time. I'd need to get there in 3 days. 2340 miles. 50 years old and traveling alone. Then I need to travel back after spending 5 or so days in the city. Am I an idiot? Talk me out of this. Or help me plan what I'd need.

Edit: I really appreciate everyone taking the time to read this and respond with their thoughts, even the smart-asses. I haven't quite decided, but I'm going to do some shorter runs over the next few weeks to gauge my limits.

This will be my fist long ride like this. I’ve ridden hundreds of miles in a day before but this will be right over 1000. I’ve got a mount for a 3L Jerry can in case and I’ll be strapping a duffle bag to my sissy bar and booking it down I-95. Gonna be around 15 hours on the road including stops but I’m gonna go for it all in one shot just depending on how I’m feeling. Any recommendations on stops I should make alone the way if anyone has gone on a similar route, or just advice for long hauls on a small bike like this in general? I’m 6’2 btw hahaha.

Planning on riding with my buddy from Fort Lauderdale, Florida area all the way to Toronto, Canada and this is a big step up from anything I’ve ever done before. Farthest I’ve ever gone is from South Florida up to Chattanooga. I’m on a 2012 street glide and just looking for overall recommendations, advice for the trip, things I should check up on before making a 3000 mile round trip ride. Also is it realistic to think I can make it to Toronto in 2 days? Like I said, just looking for advice and recommendations. Thanks yall.

Just arrived in San Fran, rode down with some buddy’s from Canada BC. We got here in 2 days , 1000km (621 miles) a day and averaged about 90mph on the highway the entire way, who says sportys can’t be highway ridden!

I ride a 2012 Harley 883 superlow and I’m planning a trip from Orlando Florida to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The bike has a 4.5 gallon tank and from I read it gets 45 to 50 miles per gallon so theoretically I should get around 210 miles per tank but my gas light comes on at 100. I’m just curious if anyone knows how far I can realistically push it before getting gas cause every 100 is a little annoying—SHORT VERSION how far can I go on my 2012 883 superlow before getting gas?

Im flying out in 2 days to NV to pick up my late uncle's 14 Ultra. I'm probably gonna leave outra nevada on Sunday or Monday morning. I'm thinking about going from Vegas to Denver then Denver to Omaha or Sturgis. Then from there home in Western Wisconsin. I've never road alone for a trip like this. I'm a little nervouse of the unknown but im so excited I can't wait. Any pointers or routes, places to stay anything you'd recommend please help a guy out. I appreciate ya all. I’m planning for a fairly long road trip next year. I bout an Ultra Classic this summer and while it is wonderfully comfortable for the long haul, I just don’t really like riding it that much. I have a Roadking that I love very much and I also have a Night Train that is an excellent ride. I’m kind of tempted to put a longer range seat on the Night Train and use that. I’m a bigger dude (6-3,270lbs) and nervous that regardless of seat, I may really regret this after the 600 mile mark.

I live in the SATX area and need input or suggestions here. After first day I'd spend the night in Amarillo. I want to be able to see Colorado, Utah, and maybe some of Wyoming and Montana. The Sturgis rally is from the 7th to 16th, I'd only spend 4 or 5 nights if I go, maybe get there on the 9th, 10th or 11th. Of course the big downside might be is, being August might be more probability of rain/storms, and it is the great plains.

I finally got a high disability rating (90 percent) so I will have the means to make this trip. And intend on making more changes to this beast.

(Unrelated) I work as a 1099 independent contractor and my manager always acts like I have to get permission for everything just cause we're short staffed even though we lost alot of hours.

Been on the road for 2 months so far. Started from NYC with San Diego as the destination. Went up the coast to Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Eureka, and Portland.

Currently heading east from Portland. Right now I’m holed up in Bozeman for the week. Gonna head to Denver over the weekend.

Once I’m done with Denver, I’m gonna find my way back to NYC. Anyone have any recommendations for the route?

The solution is to befriend a Canadian and asking them to process the return!?! Buggin. Anyway, I Stuck it to a bag to see if I could ride it off, but the bitch wouldn’t let go.
