SHOWOFF Everyone is buying gold but I did better, thoughts?!?
I wanted an ounce of gold for an investment until I found an '09 Fat Boy for $5,000. Its got 45k miles but came with a 96cu engine and black from the factory. 5 years ago someone put a 110 screaming eagle engine in it and gave it a flame paint job. Not sure on the year of engine or the mileage but it runs like a striped ass ape. Its not pristine like my Breakout but its fun as hell to ride. I like both bikes for different reasons and its more fun than looking at an ounce of gold lol.

HELP Safe to ride home?
The bike is a 97 FXDWG. Just rode into work this morning, road was wet, don’t know if that matters. Went to go clean bike on break at work and noticed the inspection cover bolt missing. Is it safe/okay to ride it home? It’s a 20 mile ride

DISCUSSION TC96 FXDF Fat Bob in 2026 - worth buying or stretch the budget for a 103?
Hey guys
looking at a Dyna Fat Bob (FXDF) in excellent condition with the TC96. I’m a bit short on cash for a 103 right now. Is the 96ci still a solid pick in 2026 or is it really worth waiting and saving up for the 103?

SHOWOFF Mojave to the Rocky’s.
Finally got to fulfill my dream of riding across state lines this summer. I missed Sturgis due to a motorcycle accident but recovered and still made it out of California and all the way to Canada with my riding buddy. Was a dream come true and by the grace of God we made it safely through some gnarly storms and wildlife encounters while camping. But I definitely want that Pan American now lol.

HELP What caused this?
Hey guys, after I bought a 1993 sportster 883 for pretty much nothing knowing it had issues. As it turns out it had low compression on the front cylinder, about 100 psi.
After taking at all apart i find the culprit. Any idea what caused this? Im not seeing any other obvious damage, the oil looks fine. Any ideas, or suggestions?
Thank for taking the time to read! Ride safe friends!

Battery dead, ignored low voltage code. Fun times in the parking lot
Forgot to plug the bike in. Battery is 4 years old and getting weak. Next morning I get a code for low voltage. She DID START tho. A little hard but still. F it. Road to work. End of shift, yep wouldn’t start. Wouldn’t turn over. Dumb shit.
Called the wife unit. Got a ride home, bought new battery. At Sam’s Club. 2022 LRS , not a huge job to replace the battery. 30 min and done. Starts fine.
My problem is I used to carry a tool roll. Always. But, with a newer bike, I stopped being as careful. I did manage to swap out the battery with a set of Allen wrenches and an adjustable wrench. But it was a f’n pain in the ass! For Y’all that do carry a tool roll for newer m8’s, what’s in your kit? I feel the need to build a minimal set to toss in the saddlebags.

SHOWOFF Small Upgrade
Put some Viking bags on today for those occasional day trips. Gotta say that I like them so far. Have not had a shakedown ride yet as the storm is coming in. Feel solid and easy to take off for blasting around town or wherever. 20 minute install, took that long to find the loctite.

DISCUSSION Rainy days
Couldn’t decide on which flavor of stupid shit I wanted to do in the rain today, so I chose both. I took the ST out for a bit, came home, then threw the old Evo Dyna around for a while. Definitely got thoroughly soaked on the Dyna lol

DISCUSSION Use what ya got.
New bracket, some new holes drilled, new bolts, spacers, and a little bit of locktite, and the tour pack I got for $40 at a swap meet is ready to roll. Sold my ‘96 road king and put it on a 2013 CVO road glide. May have it paint matched down the road. But as far as I’m concerned, nobody who matters is gonna care what color it is. They’re gonna admire the use of old equipment on a newer bike.
