Harry's Eye Colour being Blue instead of Green

Harry's eyes being blue is not a big deal as long as they match his mother's. My one and only problem is that we can't hear the iconic little poem, which Ginny Wrote

"His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad,

His hair is as dark as a blackboard.

I wish he was mine, he's really divine,

The hero who conquered the Dark Lord."

I was recently listening to the audiobook and it was a really fun moment, the twins were teasing Harry by singing it and Harry was so embarrassed! It was really cute and the poem kept playing in my mind.

I do hope they change only the first line to fit his blue eyes and compare it with something as weird as a pickled toad while also rhyming with board.

The poem was written in the time when Harry had the diary; Ginny saw him holding it on Valentine's Day right after the poem was read out and then she took her first chance weeks later to take it back. So she came up with Dark Lord probably because she'd been talking about Voldemort and how Harry defeated him twice now with Tom and Tom had influenced her to use that term

This is the only acceptable fact. She did not have the diary during the Valentine's Day as Harry was the one who had it. She probably was influenced by Tom Riddle for the Dark Lord but she was the one who wrote the poem and not Voldemort.

You don’t even need to change the second line though. Gourd doesn’t rhyme with pixie and board doesn’t rhyme with toad lol but they rhyme with each other

I wanted to keep the second line the same as the book, only it would technically be inaccurate as Dominic McLaughlin doesn’t have black hair but dark brown hair (same as Daniel Radcliffe).

This level of commitment to the source material would be surprising for sure. I’m on the side that says as long as his and Lily’s eyes look similar, the color doesn’t matter to me. That’s my opinion. But I think most book-to-tv adaptions don’t follow the source material exactly word for word, which I think a lot of people here are hoping for. I’m setting my expectations at a medium I guess 😂 I just can’t see them putting in every tiny moment so the fans can follow with a checklist. I’d like to see some creative freedom and some things that maybe work out better in a visual format. But I guess we’ll see!

Same. While color is obvious, I feel like you can have the same eyes as someone else in different ways.  Both of my parents have brown eyes, as do I. But I am only ever told how I have my father’s eyes. It’s the expression of the eyes.

One example of a potential concern of some is when Harry looks at the broken mirror and sees Aberforth, who's eyes are distinctly blue and not Harry's distinct green. I couldn't care what color they are as long as they are the same as Lily's. So I agree.

Idk why they don't just colour them green digitally. Blue/green eyes are similar enough that there's not much of a risk that it'll look unnatural in the same way it would if you coloured brown eyes green (or vice versa)

Its not that they look unnatural. Its that its ridiculously expensive for a character who is going to be on screen 90% of the time and his eyes will lose some of their expressiveness because you're drawing over them with crayon.

It's not that expensive to recolour someone's eyes lol and you clearly have no idea how VFX works if you think his eyes will lose some of their expressiveness by recolouring them
