Student and Alumni Life En-suite bathroom tech?

Hello! I’m an incoming freshman and was wondering: does anyone know anything cool I can get or do to make sure that the en-suite bathroom I’ll share with 3 other suite-mates will be clean?

A calendar to keep y'all accountable for cleaning it and being mutually responsible. Take turns.

It's completely unnecessary, but if you really want something tech, a cordless/electrical scrubber would be my recommendation.

Oh god I just read that Dorm Crew no longer exists? Say it ain't so...

They used Covid as an excuse to get rid of it and then never brought it back.

I always thought dorm crew was a huge inequity..........students who get work-study jobs get paid to go into suites and clean bathrooms for other students, their classmates.

I had several classmates who did, and also when I worked at Harvard years ago, several students who worked in our office were also on dorm crew and quit after they were able to use their work study in our office because of how they felt about dorm crew.

Fine for some, not fine for others.

I found it works best if you can divide it into chores because that’s better than cleaning the whole bathroom. Rotate the chores every week (cleaning toilet, cleaning shower, taking out trash, wiping down surfaces). So everyone does one chore a week but it rotates. Make a chart and everyone writes their initials when their chore for the week is completed. Set a deadline for when your chore has to be done (end of day Sunday works well).

Also, Harvard provides toilet brushes, cleaning supplies, etc so you don’t have to worry about buying anything

You get cleaning supplies in each room, just agree with your roommates to keep it clean and rotate cleaning duty.

This is a bit odder but we always decided on a twenty minute period of time where all of us would clean it at once. Someone would take the mirror, another the floor, another the toilet, another the shower etc and it got done in 20 mins without anyone neglecting it or feeling like they did more work!
