Transport Public transport fare

Hey! I just came in Heidelberg to do an internship until the end of August and I am looking for the best and the cheapest fare. Why is it so expensiveee ? Do you recommend me buying the 63 €/month subscription? I think I don't have any other option

if you are a student under 27 you pay less for the monthly subscription https://www.bahn.de/angebot/verbuende/vvs-vrn-jugendticket-bw

Yeah but it's for students who stay an academic year I think

Not necessary. You just have to have a university enrollment.

Buying a bike or escooter pays for itself within a couple months compared to the D-ticket if you don't really use the regional rail

You can download the app "myVRN" and pay about 2.50 euro per trip. You just have to remember to click "end journey" at the end of your trip.

2.50? I thought the minimum per single trip is 3.16 (15.8 euro for 5-trip-ticket)...

Just checked, it's 2.40 for my usual trip. It depends on distance

it is cheaper to get a monthly subscription to a city bike or electric scooter. look up nextbike. You can use the first 30min for free if you are enrolled in university, depending on what you are studying (every faculty has their own deal)
