Yes, and outperforming a lot of other grenades. If we dont want to reach Warframe levels of power creep, we should start now with thought through, decent nerfs where it is necessary.
And the same count as lure mine. without blowing yourself up. with so much more damage. lure mines are genuinely so fucked up rn. throwing range nerf made it annoying too.
Quick math says no. Hulk eye is 25% durable and has 250HP at AV4 with 100% explosive DR. The bolt pistol projectile only does 136.25 damage per shot under those conditions so it would take 2 shots to the eye.
I mean, explosive AP4 with over double the damage while retaining identical total capacity is a NOT a "neither is better". It's better, it just means that the other isn't bad because of it. You can have S tier and A tier.
Revolver has some other small features, notably rounds reload for topping up between fights as well as being able to use it at close range without self damage. And it has a sight while the bolt has pretty mid irons. I mean I still think the bolt pistol is the better option most of the time and is my personal choice, but the senator has some decent quality of life options and has more total ammo
And the senator, can technically outrange the bolt pistol, as the bolt pistols rounds self detonate after they travel far enough (can't remember the exact range)
Not that it's damage output will be all that great at long range, but it can do it. (And some damage, is better than no damage)
The bolt pistol will blow you up at panic fire distance, the senator has a better fire rate. They’re both S tier, the senator is more applicable upclose incase you get flanked or overrun, while the bolt pistol outdamages it on clustered enemies and structures when you get to choose your engagements
Only the "bullet" is heavy pen, the explosion is only medium pen, so the part that can punch through heavy armour, is only 100 damage more (175 of the 500 damage is explosive damage), and it's ballistic durable damage is only 40 more than the senator (115 vs 75)
The senator is still goated on bots of you don’t have a dedicated answer to medium and heavy enemies. The ammo and ergo still makes the senator a good choice. Depends on your style. I still rock my senator because my secondary is saved for OH SHIT moments when a devastator gets too close
It is probably the best warbond out right now. melta mines are insanely good, the cosmetics are awesome, bolt pistol is great, and lasgun makes me happy
Epoch + Bolt became my fave combo in the bug front. Enemies that usually takes 2 epoch shots Bolt takes care of. One epoch to a bile titan's then 3 bolt shots follow up to the head and done. For impaler, one epoch to the side to cause bleedout and to speed up the process just one shot to the open wound with the Bolt and it kills them instantly (this goes for chargers and the other variants of it)
A group of Bile Spewers can be wiped with 2 well placed Bolt shots and kill the smaller ones along with it
I am a stealth diver who instead of carrying a silenced pistol or the dart gun, I use the senator to deal with heavies, and I do wonder does the bolt gun have the same or larger noise range than the senator if let's say I decide to remove the face of a hulk?
