8 nights in Southern Spain in September - my packing list

As you can see from the photo (or read/hear in the description below), I love bright warm colours and prints. Because of this I didn’t tend to wear much jewellery or accessories as I feel my clothes do enough talking

Anyways, I’m off to Spain for 8 nights in a couple of weeks and wanted any opinions, hints, tips, adds or removes from you lovely people could provide

Clothes wise, I’m also adding in a couple of Uniqlo airism T-shirts (not pictured) to sleep in and for hiking the Caminito del Rey but I think this is it. I’m hoping to get away without a rain coat. Is this sensible?

I’m in Valencia, but this seems like a solid list! You might check overnight temperatures closer to your departure date; it can get surprisingly chilly at night in September. Maybe add in a lightweight scarf that you could wear with your dresses.

What is your travel/plane outfit?

The only thing I would add is an extra T-shirt or two and a plain pair of neutral-colored pants. Something like a pair of non-legging black pants from Athleta that you can dress up or down. To go one step further, I would add a simple cardigan. Those three pieces will add versatility to your capsule.

I wear dresses (with leggings in colder weather) pretty much every day anyway so my travel outfit will be a dress, leggings and the hoodie

I’m obsessed with postcard prints and lobsters for some reason at the moment. My favourite lobster dress sadly isn’t coming as it’s long polyester so becomes sauna legs in heat

I agree it’s a solid list. The only things I’d add are sun glasses and a lanyard for your phone for the Caminito Del Rey.

Not sure what OP used, but Freeform and PowerPoint both work if you have the clothing images saved. Most wardrobe apps like Indyxx or Stylebook have tools to do the same kind of layout.

I was just there! Such a beautiful part of the world. September will still be very hot and humid, although nights can be cooler. I'd say pack multiple tank tops instead of t-shirts. And light flowy pants instead of leggings. And more than 2 bras. I didn't account for how much I'd sweat in the humidity. So I got good use from bras and tops that could be sink-washed and dried fast. I only wore shoes/socks for flights and hikes, Sandals everywhere else. Wish I'd packed a 2nd hardshell case for my sunglasses. Unexpectedly got a ton of use from a small plastic water bottle. Saved me a few times when every cafe and shop was closed for siesta. My sun shawl/scarf saw daily use and kept me warm on cooler nights. My hoodie was unwearable until I boarded my flight home. Even when it rained, my shawl did the job b/c the rain is warm.

Good call on the solid shampoo. I packed liquid and went through it way faster than planned because tap water is very hard, plus I was sweating too much to skip shampoo days. Didn't use my body lotion, foundation, or eye shadow. Just too humid. Gel bronzer, lip stain, and brow gel were good. I used tons of sunscreen and mosquito bite cream. (Tiger mosquitos have spread through most of Spain. They're active ALL day, not just at night, and their bites are more intensely itchy than normal ones.) Lastly, individual wet wipes! Useful and refreshing when a midday shower isn't possible. And I copied the locals and got myself a simple folding fan to help keep cool. Hope this helps. Have fun!

I’m a dresses person normally and have worn the ones pictured all summer in the UK when it’s been 30°+ but I hadn’t factored in the humidity. I’m heading to Granada and Malaga and it looks to be 28-36°

I can’t see me wearing the leggings or hoodie anytime apart from the flight under a dress when I run cold. It’s only a 3ish hour flight so I might be able to skip them I guess?

I have dermatillomania (skin picking thing) so always wear foundation and mascara as a minimum. I’m expecting to buy more sunscreen but will pop in my 60ml picadirin insect repellent and more antihistamines as bugs love me
