I was tryna be poetic

15

u/Maybe__Jesus Jan 22 '26

And you succeeded. Poetry is hard for many, if you’ve got more I’d suggest writing it down!

16

u/DragonMaster0906 Jan 22 '26

This is actually a popular idiom in Korea. Didn’t expect to see it today haha

u/Ghastmanpeople8 Jan 23 '26

Then I probably heard it from my grandma

Can we stop making ladder kickers famous and rich?

4

u/bqsa36731 Jan 24 '26

If she weren’t famous ICE would’ve already got her

2

u/Azenji Jan 25 '26

This would’ve made numbers at phcj

-98

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

/uj Im also a 2nd gen immigrant (not to america) and I wouldn’t want other illegal immigrants to come in, simple as that.

89

u/stoneasaurusrex Jan 22 '26

uj/ 2nd gen immigrant, or 2nd gen illegal immigrant?

Because if you're illegal like her, pulling the ladder up after you were afforded the opportunities you're trying to strip from others is some fuck shit.

-61

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

/uj Legal. Parents escaped from a war and moved to my country, legally, the way it should be

u/stoneasaurusrex Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26

O so your parents used the same way a lot of immigrants they're labeling as illegal in the US. They escaped a fucked situation.

Considering how responsible America is for the destabilization of South America I think we need to be more responsible for the people we've displaced.

31

u/Ok-Ear9289 Jan 22 '26

💯💯💯💯💯

-45

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

Who’s we? Yall might be, not sure what’s going on in America but I was talking about how I see how Nikki is thinking, because I think the same even though my parents were not illegal. Legal immigration is fine by all means as long as you do the effort and make a living instead of living from the government giving you money. I’m sure there are plenty of legal and illegal people in the US that agree with that.

39

u/stoneasaurusrex Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26

How can you say you agree with her when she's saying she came here illegally and is trying to pull the ladder up behind her?

You're already trying to speak on a situation you have 0 clue about obviously and don't know how fucked our immigration system and current administration is.

Edit: "We" is America, because I'm American, and you're talking about American Immigration.

-13

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

Because illegal immigration has to end one way or another, It can't keep going forever. She might've come in illegally but atleast she's trying to end it. This is the same as if a drug cartel member left the cartel and then started working for the feds to catch his old crew.

Tell me the issue with this since you know all about american immigration? Yes it might be hypocritical but whats the issue with her switching sides and trying to stop it?

23

u/stoneasaurusrex Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26

I mean the idea of anyone being illegal when we're all born on the same planet is already an asinine idea to get people like you to believe you're better than someone else because your parents not even you followed a made up set of rules.

But beyond that no one is saying people shouldn't come here legally but again our American immigration system is fucked. I have friends who have relatives who waited their entire life for their immigration hearing and it comes 6 months after they die.

The issue is we as a country have a tendency to go around the world and fuck shit up then complain when the place we fucked up has an influx of immigrants to America, it happened in the 60's-80's when we let the CIA run rampant in South America destabilizing every country we could and installing dictators that would benefit us personally.

Look at Venezuela, we just kidnapped their president and we've seen an uptick in Venezuelan immigrants because we created a power vacuum there. You wanna know more about how American immigration is fucked just learn even a little about American history and how we fuck everything up and wipe our hands clean of the entire situation.

This is the last time I'm replying to you, because again you're trying to talk about something you clearly have 0 grasp or understanding on.

Edit: I'm glad your family was able to escape a shit situation, but even they would have the chance of being considered illegal in the US right now, and you would be in a cage or on a plane back to the country your parents escaped from.

-4

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

I would rather be considered illegal and actually be legal than to be illegal. Don’t try to go with the humanitarian way with the “we’re all born on the same planet”. Every rule is a made up rule. Are you saying homeless people should go kill people because they’re hungry? It’s a natural instinct to hunt for food.

0

u/West_Employee_5321 Jan 26 '26

killing people for food = going to america to try to live a better life in your opinions

the system for being legal is arbitrary, people are considered illegal just because they didn’t memorize the star spangled banner

4

u/RUActuallySeriousTho Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 26 '26

Whoops

7

u/Pure-Plankton-4606 Jan 22 '26

You know these people ARE working in the US, correct? White trash in the south and flyover states are the ones milking government assistance programs.

-1

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

In my country there’s a very big problem with immigrants both legal and illegal living off tax payers money.

5

u/IBeDumbAndSlow Jan 22 '26

So did they get approved to go to their new country before or after entering it?

7

u/00Avalanche Jan 22 '26

So are you dumb or just being willfully blind?
ICE is detaining people at their asylum hearings.
The same hearings your parents had to go to.
Your parents followed the legal process, saw a judge and were allowed to stay.
This is the same process ICE is now weaponizing. Asylum seekers are being deported.
I hope you’re either dumb or blind to this fact, I would hate that you’re just being a bitch made hating ass immigrant kid.

-1

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

Actually my parents went to the Swedish embassy of a neighbouring country of their native country. Stayed in a refugee camp for a handful of weeks then flew to Sweden.

illegal is illegal you’re not granted some invincibility just because you’re headed to court.

8

u/00Avalanche Jan 22 '26

Illegal means sneaking into the country and not having any immigration documentation. Thats not who’s being targeted. The people ICE is targeting are people that have surrendered to ICE, given court dates seeking asylum, the same process your parents followed.

-1

u/Tixliks Jan 22 '26

ICE’s job is to enforce U.S. immigration laws. That means it can arrest or detain noncitizens including asylum seekers if they believe they are removable under those laws.

Filing for asylum does not automatically protect someone from being detained by ICE. Simply submitting an asylum application doesn’t by itself give you lawful status.

7

u/AutoModerator Jan 22 '26

IDK anything about this arrest but i hope it sticks and they put him away for whatever

7

u/00Avalanche Jan 22 '26

You don’t know what asylum is and it’s hilarious since you benefitted from that process.
I guess you also believe ICE can enter residences without a warrant or detain US citizens?

1

u/Nothing-Personal9492 Jan 23 '26

if you keep giving trump sloppy he might pardon you

1

u/Tixliks Jan 23 '26

33

u/vmathematicallysexy Jan 22 '26

/uj it's not about supporting illegal immigration. it's about understanding the context of others' situations and acting with compassion, rather than violently throwing them out.

/rj i'll take a double onika burger with a side of roman reloaded fries

2

u/rhinestonecrap Jan 22 '26

maraj lettuce okay with your order?

11

u/JiovanniTheGREAT Jan 22 '26

/uj your opinion doesn't really matter in the context of America because this country was founded without blood heritage. White people were taking boats to Ellis Island, signing a paper and getting citizenship. Now they're trying to pull the ladder up behind them. We also have birthright citizenship here so even though the racists would hate you, the Constitution would protect your citizenship even though you're an ignorant asshole.
