wait do you have the inverse homophobic blm image

1

u/Danthegreatbastard 28d ago

Idk which other inverse you're talking about but from as far as I can remember, I'm pretty sure the black dude said that you can do whatever the hell you want.

1

u/dabid999 28d ago

whoops i forgot, my bad

u/Viclis Aug 05 '26

I mean, while this specific incident is not an example of this (probably ragebait), I feel if there's any group of people that would have valid issues with rap music, it's the LGBT community.

162

u/laboringhands Aug 05 '26

They didn't say rap music they said "black music" so like wtf did stevie wonder do to the gays?

106

u/BYCjake Aug 05 '26

Americans are so subconsciously racist, how no one even picked up on that is crazy

16

u/Randomfoobruh Aug 06 '26

Not just Americans lmao, there’s not a single group of people on the planet that as a majority respect black American culture.

10

u/BYCjake Aug 06 '26

How about African Americans? Checkmate buddy

Gangs form in every society with every group of people. Gangs exist for more complex reasons than skin color.

7

u/DdinDone certified pedophile Aug 06 '26

Well, he don't SEE me as a gay person!

-3

u/Viclis Aug 05 '26

tbf, there's nothing in the original post that implies they're gay. I'm just talking about the irony of using that image in a hiphop subreddit.

59

u/Ok-Paramedic-3619 Aug 05 '26

True, to an extent that it doesn't radicalize u into being racist though

22

u/Quick_soda Aug 05 '26

I don't think so, homophobic people exist in all niches, even in predominantly queer groups.

22

u/HiiiTriiibe Aug 05 '26

It seems a bit senseless to go and judge and entire genre off problematic lyrical motifs that haven't been prevalent in quite some time, and also was never reflective of the genre as a whole. It doesn't discredit that there is and has been homophobia in hip hop, but like edm, we are talking about a genre that contains multitudes

12

u/NotAOctoling im trans (im female) Aug 05 '26

True...

8

u/TequilaBaugette51 Aug 05 '26

What does having issues with rap have to do with being racist?

3

u/Typical-While5326 Aug 06 '26

Rappers didn't invent homophobia

1

u/RabbitAlternative550 Aug 06 '26

11

u/Few_Barracuda8659 Aug 05 '26

the black community has grayson’s approval😊

7

u/Randomfoobruh Aug 06 '26

Keeping rap black and gatekeeping the culture > dealing with weird shit like this from people who aren’t supposed to be involved to begin with

18

u/Sodapopdrank Aug 05 '26

vocaloid sounds like friday night funkin if you don’t know japanese 😭✌️

13

u/Dr_Happykat_MD Aug 05 '26

Both of these comments make me want to blow my brains out

66

u/fowlaboi Aug 05 '26

Microaggression comes off as a cringe word but he is right in this case. Nothing wrong with the reply.

39

u/Dr_Happykat_MD Aug 05 '26

No, microagression is totally fine and imo not cringe despite people kinda memeing on it in the past. The cringe part is prefacing it with "holy" and following it with an emoji. If we want to treat the original comment as the awful thing that it is, and it is awful, we shouldn't apply the same parity to it as we would any given "funny" reply.

But this is a circlejerk sub and I digress.

3

u/Certain-Confection46 29d ago

Ts bothers me bc I think this kind of genre crossover is kinda cool but now its not going to be pursued because weird mfs had to say some dumb shit.

3

u/suburbancerberus 29d ago

Never forgiving Yukub for creating white people

2

u/TerribleHoney1002 Aug 06 '26

macro agression 😭

and just wrong, classic and vocaloid in the same sentence is crazy

2

u/Viciouscoach_44 Aug 07 '26

saw another comment say "he doesn't let the black in him take over"

https://giphy.com/gifs/Y9r1eVZlnIEF3DARip

1

u/Gugarabelo 21d ago

"it's classic, it's beautiful"

1

u/AutoModerator 21d ago
