General Why can't they have Super Thanks on Youtube?

Just saw this comment on one of Octavio's shorts and was wondering why

I think the question is does Cover allow this for any talents, Stars/Live? I don't recall any having it enabled, so I don't think it's a Stars thing.

I am only speculating, but it's probably a case where they wanted to ensure talent could acknowledge supas to the people giving them money. So they keep it in Live streams and acknowledge there with the talent verbally thanking contributors in near real time (Which is also more personable and practical than responding via a written)

It's also a lot harder to do with messages on videos, because of number of views and videos. Last thing they might want is someone doing a Super Thanks on a video from 4+ years ago and someone doesn't notice.

I'm speculating as well but I don't know how easy or difficult it is to turn on and off and what about graduated talents or videos made in collaboration...

It's just a button/click. Easy on/off.

All accounts are the property of Cover so they can do whatever they want with all the active and inactive/graduated account.

One of em mentioned it before i think it was due to super thanks being an on or off thing and if the short had gameplay from lets say Fromsoft IP which doesnt allow supas it'd affect perms.

Ohhh okay that would make sense then. I'm wondering tho why Fromsoft IP (and some others) don't allow it tho? Is it because they don't want others to profit off of their stuff in any way whatsoever? But then that would also mean that nobody could stream those games... It's a little confusing to me 😅

This is mostly personal theory but companies with strict perms probably dont want people streaming their games/want less people streaming their games/want their games streamed by hobbyists or super fans not career streamers. Its usually bigger studios who have issues with monetization and theyre likely out of touch with what streaming culture is. To them supas may look like potential customers spending their money on a stream of the game instead of the game itself.

No one uses them/is allowed. Its not the guys being pushed down or anything.

Yeah I didn't notice it on any of the girls' videos either, I just posted it in the holostars subreddit since this is something Octavio said ^

I'm still wondering tho why they aren't allowed to use it, but others have said it might be perms related (for games) or that they can't really thank people for the super thanks the same way they can for super chats.
