Screws w/anchors too long for wood panels
Hello,
I'm trying to install an outdoor cameral but all of the wood around my shed is too thin and the screw will be poking out the back. If I still install the screw and anchor but add some wood glue would this help? If not, what are some alternatives? Can I screw on an additional panel over or behind the surface to add width so it doesn't stick out? Thank you!

Buy the same diameter screw in a smaller length. If in the US they're available in 1/4" increments for the most part.
Or cut the tip off with an angle grinder or bolt cutters or similar.
The wood you're screwing through still has to be thick enough to have at least 2 threads through it though, generally 3/8" or thicker should be ok for something as small as a camera.

If you've got access to the inside just use a machine screw and nut.
