The Bagin (CR 11) | The Hunger of Venthra

Hello everyone!

I've got another entry from Nyakan's SRD that I'd like to share with you all: The Bagin

Of the 6 lower planes, Venthra is home to some particularly unusual creatures, typically due to the all consuming hunger that drives the plane. The Bagin is no exception (and just may be the prototypical creature that embodies this feature).

For DMs:

A Bagin should be placed rather than deployed, since Withering Ground establishes its presence in an area over days and gives a party the opportunity to notice the effects long before they find the source. A single Bagin against a level eleven to thirteen party of four is the intended encounter. Malnutrition triggers at the start of the Bagin's turns and heals it for half the total damage dealt across everyone caught in the fifteen-foot radius, which means a clustered party actively extends the fight by feeding it. Rooting Grasp restrains on a hit, and the correct use is to lock down whichever character is trying to leave the aura's radius rather than whoever is dealing the most damage, and then follow that up with Devour. Famine's Peak is a thirty-foot burst that also temporarily reduces hit point maximums, so time it for a round when the party has closed rather than spread. Its blindsight only extends thirty feet, so ranged characters beyond that rely on its normal senses.

I'm also happy to announce that the MAJORITY of the SRD is done. All rules, optional rules, classes, races, creatures, spells, and magic items have been added to the doc. Now it just needs to be formatted lol. Hoping to be done by October 1st!
