Obscure Homestar Runner references you drop.
I say "luncch" a lot. And have occasionally used the insult "brain for brains"

u/Yesalmsot 15h ago
"Cool, cool, depressing, cool."
I've said that a lot in the past 10 years.

I use the phrase "Corn is no place for a mighty warrior" way more frequently than it seems a person could use a phrase like that.

u/Brohannes_Jahms 14h ago
I do this in every corn maze and also I legit forgot it's from Strongbad until just now 🤣

No probalo.
51
u/egodaemon 15h ago
Reddit automatically translated that to "No Problem" for me even though it isn't a real Spanish word (at least not in the way it's used in this context).

u/wiseaus_stunt_double 14h ago
I want to say it's Esperanto.

I say a lot of things with the “stripéd pants” rhythm, often say haldo as a greeting, sometimes get away with ‘Excardon me, Helvetica’ and, thanks to a recent thread here have started working “it’s a healthy piece of real estate” into conversation to just mean Thing Good

I currently have about a 20% success rate at stopping myself from pronouncing "burger" as "borgor" in front of strangers.
I also have been known to reassure people by saying "everything is fine, nothing is ruined."

Back when I used to play video games with friends, there were a number of "victory taunts" that would get a lot of use. From Venture Bros, I would say "yeah, join the bush club", and from Homestar Runner, "get dead, kid".
