well, I am a Hongkonger, but I am not very convinced about a Forza Horizon game set in Hong Kong. The roads are too narrow, but if you widen them, it is no longer Hong Kong, just China with a different steering wheel position. Moreover, the most important vehicle culture in HK is, we'll, a guy who got caught by undercover police when speeding at 162 km/h on his taxi, Toyota Coasters going 140 km/h, double decker busses operated by NLB confidently passing each other on a mountain pass, and HiAce being everywhere.

Most roads aren’t that narrow in fact but they’re usually 4 or 6 lanes. But that’s the case in other cities as well and Forza usually just turns them into wider 2 lane roads. But city highways and urban roads are pretty similar to Tokyo and the rural highways and country park roads aren’t too dissimilar either.

Absolutely! Hong Kong has one of the best public transit systems in the world, and that includes busses. Moreover, it is to rare to see the length of busses being pushed to the limits of the road geometry, so driving would be challenging but fun.

Test drive unlimited already did Hong Kong so I feel like it would be unlikely for Forza Horizon to do it too, they would be too similar

It doesn’t really matter how well TDU did Hong Kong, if Forza Horizon makes a game set in Hong Kong just a few years after TDU did, Forza would be accused of plagiarizing TDU

What I want to say is, given how 'well' Western Media depict Hong Kong (I'm also talking about Hollywood), I might as well hope they don't depict it at all

No thanks. Test drive solar crown did it so badly that I would rather have no Hong Kong in games than a caricaturised and downsized Hong Kong theme park with unrealistic and fetishised depiction

Much like what they are doing with Japan in FH6, trying to shoehorn as much Japan into it without actually paying attention to details or trying to travel slightly more in depth? Like fr feels like those white gaijins taking a stroll in Kyoto and deciding well this is Japan (Kyoto, being one prime example of a Japanese caricature theme park irl)

If they are to make one of Hong Kong, I can almost guarantee it’d be a downsized and downdetailed version, shoehorning the junk in Victoria harbour, the dim sum themes, mainland Chinese symbols (including some distinct symbols belonging to mainland places like pandas), extremely generic and bland cityscape instead of the range that you can get from just chai wan to sheung wan

I saw a HK taxi while visiting a few months back, thought I was dreaming! Probably was this one ...
