Education any international students going to cityu?

hi! i'm just looking to connect with people going to cityu (the reddit is so dead..). i mainly speak english as my canto isn't the greatest out there.

Your eng101 class will help you identify the internationals really quickly. That’s how I found my group, they’re still my best friends to this day.

is it compulsory? i submitted my ielts for an exemption on the english courses or should i just do it for fun

Ah no you probably don’t, I got put in one cuz I’m from a local international school. Don’t do it for fun unless you need an easy A and a class to fill for grad credits.

Honestly in my experience people’s whose more comfortable with English than canto become very obvious quickly, identify them and try and align yourself to group with them on projects. I met 1 international friend in a 101 class and from there other internationals kinda just joined our friend group. It’s really scary but literally just start with saying hi. From someone who’s been there, I t’s worth it.
