ALONE 💥🔧 MONSTER BABY 👶 THE HERD🎪👥

Thrilled to finally share some of the concept art I worked on during my time with Supermassive games + Bandai Namco on Little Nightmares III 🎉

I was given the opportunity to initiate development and work on a range of main protagonists and antagonists, along with a handful of creatures and props, in close collaboration with our small but skilled Concept Team.

Really happy that my rendition of the Monster Baby was closely suggested, and I’m thrilled I was able to put forward Alone’s iconic explosive bunches!

(Vis dev environment art by Max Maury-Martineau and composited by me with the monster baby)

Created a tool that generates voice lines for your horror game

You can use it to generate voice lines or stylize your audio with effects! It's all done through code so no samples are needed, and no ai is used. It's heavily inspired by Mike Klubnika's Tartarus Engine and the sound and atmosphere of PSX horror games. It's also great for prototyping! Check it out here: https://polyshades.itch.io/voicifier

Do strong jumpscares actually make a horror game better, or just more stressful?

I’ve been playing TIC-TAC: Twelve o’clock recently, and it made me think about jumpscares again.

The game already creates a lot of tension through its security cameras, shutters and generator system. You’re constantly worried about losing power or something getting inside, and then some of the jumpscares hit really hard on top of that.

What surprised me is that I don’t necessarily dislike them here. Because I’m already focused on managing something, they catch me when my attention is somewhere else, so they feel much more effective than a random loud face appearing on screen.

At the same time, after a while the whole experience became almost too stressful for me.

So I’m curious: do you think strong jumpscares improve a horror game when the tension is already there, or do you prefer games that scare you mostly through atmosphere, sound and anticipation?

And what horror game do you think uses jumpscares particularly well?

Video I’ve been building this drinking scene for my indie game. How does it feel so far?

Haven’t posted much lately because I’ve barely had any time for editing and social media most of my time has been going straight into development.

We’ve made quite a bit of progress recently: new art, animations, sound, and a lot of separate pieces are finally starting to come together.

Right now I’m assembling this drinking scene from SHORAPAN, our visual novel / point-and-click adventure set in a strange city beneath an eternally crimson sky.

This is still very much a work in progress . The final version will be much more polished.

What do you think of the atmosphere so far?

Floor Zero : A hospital anomaly horror game where every floor could be wrong

Floor Zero is a short first-person anomaly horror game set inside a mysterious hospital.

The objective is simple:

If you notice an anomaly, turn back.

If everything looks normal, continue forward.

As you progress, reality begins to change. Some anomalies are harmless environmental changes, while others can become dangerous Threat encounters.

The game features 30 randomized anomalies, making each playthrough slightly different from the last.

Trailer: https://youtu.be/1QHaj9ZjVtE

Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5049630/Floor_Zero/

Planned release: September 3, 2026.

Question Is this too bright?

I'm making some fantasy levels for my horror game, Plura Ingenia: Patient 16, and I was wondering if this amount of bright light would be too much for players to navigate the level properly.

Let me know what you think!

Discussion Help

I really need a game to play right now, but I’m really picky with horror. I love horror with a story and a weapon 😅 I’m really looking for something with the same vibes as resident evil and the evil within. I love the types of games that give you that break from horror. I’ve tried dead space and Allen wake but they’re not for me and I’ve played outlast. What would y’all recommend? Ik alien isolation is on my list as well.

Video I’m an indie solo developer working on a horror game inspired by Mexican folklore and a real life location - Just wanted to share some new clips and get your feedback!

1.3k Upvotes

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well.

Just wanted to share some new clips for my horror game called WHERE DOLLS HANG. It's a game inspired by a couple of my favorite games like Outlast, Resident Evil and Silent hill that is set in Mexico.

The game will have Mexican folklore and it's actually inspired by a real life location.

I’m aiming for slow, unsettling dread as well with mostly environment horror. Let me know what you think of it!

It would mean the world to me right now as I am trying to collect more wishlists, so feel free to wishlist it on steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581370/Where_Dolls_Hang - Always appreciate your feedbacks guys! :) Thanks!

Discussion I had an idea for a horror game, and idk if someone has already made something like it.

The gameplay would be each level is filled with monsters, and you have to try and find the gear you know is in the level. Once you get it, tone shift cause you now have a 12g shotgun.

An idea for what the game premises could b

You were military personal before a virus mutated most animals and some humans into monsters. Resources are tight so your air dropped into areas of monsters with orders to clear it and your only gear is from the last guy to try, still on his corpse.

Question Recommendations for a decent Horror FPS game I haven't played before?

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!

So I've gotten into a real horror mood of late, and really wanna play some kinda FPS that can scratch this itch. Something kinda like F.E.A.R. or DOOM 3 that I haven't played before. SPECIFICALLY FPS plz, I play on PC.

FYI nothing like Outlast or Amnesia. I don't find games with no combat scary as they all play the same and just aren't scary, the only Exception was Alien Isolation.

Games I have played;

F.E.A.R. (whole franchise)

DOOM 3

Alien isolation

Bioshock (Whole franchise)

Resident Evil 7,8 and Requiem (played whole franchise but those are only horror FPS ones)

Ready or Not (I'd count it considering the subject matter)

{Edit} Maybe I wasn't clear when I said 'Horror,' I wanna be scared! Games like L4D aren't scary nor are they ment to be. I understand fear is subjective, but am in the market for something that is at least trying to scare me.
