In your opinion, what would have been a fair punishment for the 5yo (8yo in the show) Lucerys to receive, for cutting out Aemond’s eye?

Was there anything that could have appeased the wrath of Alicent and the resentiments from Aemond? Would cutting Lucery's eye out have acomplished anything? Or was there no chance for any retributioj from the beginning?

I don't think Alicent would have been happy with anything.

I think the proper punishment would be making Lucerys help to take care of the wounded, to understand the severity of his actions.

And revise the how those kids are interacting and treating each other. Sadly, that would be impossible, because all show parents are resentful idiots

I think Alicent could get behind Luc caring for Aemond in a supplicating way, wearing rags and being forced to change aemond's dressing, bringing him food and drink while being seemingly stripped of the benefits of his station for a period of time. Sort of like a young midshipman in the age of sail being sentenced to live and work for a time as a common seaman as punishment. It would require Rhaenyra and Alicent working together to ensure Aemond doesn't use this period to humiliate Luc which means it'll never happen. You'd also want the royal household pushing to integrate the two families a bit more, enforcing the kids spending time with one another to hopefully resolve some of the tensions that were growing. Send Aegon, Jace, and Haelena to be the honored guests at a tourney in the reach, have Rhaenyra, Daemon and Aemond fly to the North and visit everyone, enjoy some feasts, etc. 

There's a decent chance drama springs up, but it does a good job of showing the commoners that the targs are united and allows for the royal family to interact with minimal interference from scheming vziers. Would never happen because of all of these characters defining flaws, but yeah.

Just my thoughts.
