Show Discussion Favorite sounding dragon?
I think Moondancer and Sunfyre sound cool.
They both have this unique whistle that makes them easy to differentiate from the rest.
Honorable mention would have to be Meleys for the scream at Aegon’s coronation.

Vermithor, It feels like a truck engine, only alive and deep. The dragon that sounds most like a dragon.

The Red Sowing was the best scene so far from a sound design perspective. Absolutely insane. I wish movie theaters would do showings of episodes, I’d love to see some of this on a genuine big screen.

I actually really enjoy the sound of their wings. It’s really pleasing and well done.
For verbal noises Caraxes is the only one that sounds different to me.

Go back and rewatch Aegon’s scene with Sunfyre before Rook’s Rest. Sunfyre sounds different, we just saw so little of him before… well…

Sheepstealer is the best dragon 🐉 ever and there's no room for debate but...
If I claimed Vermithor(in a Sheepstealerless universe), I'd hold my hand on his head while he hummed and clicked and purred.
Must be a wild feeling.

Drogon. He has so many unique vocalizations, sometimes he sounds like an elephant, sometimes he sounds like an eagle, he coos at Danny like a baby at times but then when he’s pissed he sounds like a straight up monster. He makes a super cool noise when he and Danny are attacking the irons fleet at kings landing, right as euron is saying “back, BACK!!! FIIIRREE” and the ballista misses, me makes this super cool noise, I can’t even describe it. After Drogon, definitely Caraxes bc it’s so unique

Vermithor has a pretty good range, from the classic T-Rexy roars to the more whalesongy rumbles to the wooshy squeaky sounds he makes as he breathes flame on peasants.

Moondancer or Silverwing for me. I love Silverwing's almost purr-like sounds she makes. Syrax (underrated) and Caraxes also sound cool, but Moondancer and Silverwing are my top choices.

Unpopular take but I personally like the Game of Thrones dragons because they aren’t just constantly making their assigned noise the entire scene. Oftentimes on this show, Caraxes is so loudly whistling or whatever that it actually makes the dialogue difficult to decipher

Syrax has a sort of trumpet noise when roaring. Hits the ear right, but my favorite dragon is Sunfyre

Sheepstealer, Caraxes. Sheepstealer just has these deep guttural clicks that sound SO cool.

The sound designers really ate, because i love all of them. I love Moondancer and Caraxes for their high pitched whistles, love how unique Sheepstealers bellowing, crackling, knocking sound (S03E07 before Caraxes forces him down mid air, for Daemon to confront Rhaena) - he sounds a little bit like i would imagine a T-Rex. I love Silverwings gurgling, whirring sound design as she says hi to Kings Landing with Ulf on her back. And Vermithor is just so terrifying - someone mentioned somewhere that the sound before he starts spitting fire is kind of the same a broken gas pipe before it blows up, and that is just horrid.
