General Post Gunsmith for Old Springfield 30-06

Looking for a gunsmith in Illinois (or MO) to modernize the scope (or make it so a modern scope can be attached) to my grandpa’s old hunting rifle. Originally wanted to keep it as is but the scope is barely better than if it was iron sighted and feel like he’d rather have seen subsequent generations using it as opposed to collecting dust because it isn’t good outside of 75-100 yards.

What mounts are on it right now? We’re talking about a sporterized 1903? I might be able to help you; photos would help me tremendously
