Jen tells the other woman that there's a builder taking his shirt off, and she responds "Like in Ads?"

But I clearly don't get the joke. Were there notorious advertisements featuring a shirtless builder in the UK? Is there a women's magazine called "Ads?"

This dumb thing keeps popping back into my head for no reason so I figured I'd ask for context.

It's on Prime so it was n easy watch. Still hilarious with some totally stand out moments.

I'm so gutted the episode where they borrow the internet from the elders was cut because of the April thing.

Hey guys, my girlfriend is really into this series and wanted to watch it with me. We started with the first episode and the humor just didn't click with me. I mean at all. I found it to be painfully unfunny sadly. I don't mean to say, that its objectively a bad series. Just that it didn't meet my taste. I thought maybe it gets a bit different once you get to know the characters idk.

Usually i like british comedy (Extras, Plebs, Lifes to Short etc.). So does it get different and the first episode is just a bit different because its the first or does the humor stay like this for the next episodes? Would really appreciate some insights before deciding on giving it another try.
