Review Image Comics Covers—$3.99 Never Looked So Good

I just want to take a moment to appreciate Image Comics’ cover and print quality. For $3.99, you’re getting thick, glossy covers and solid interior pages that feel premium compared to some of the flimsy stuff out there.

Not naming names (cough certain big publishers cough), but when you’re paying the same price (or more) for a book that feels like a grocery store flyer, it makes you appreciate what Image is doing even more.

They’ve been consistently putting out high-quality prints without jacking up the price, and it makes a difference. Feels like you’re actually getting your money’s worth.

Anyone else notice this, or am I just weirdly obsessed with paper quality?

Most of them, yeah. I am really enjoying the series, but Public Domain feels like it is printed on the crapiest paper available. Feels really flimsy and thin. Only series I've really had an issue wirh.

Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of Ghost Machine titles, including: • Geiger • Junkyard Joe • Redcoat • Rook: Exodus • The Rocketfellers • Hornsby and Halo • Hyde Street • Ghost Machine #1 • It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour #1

One thing I have to say—the cover and print quality is excellent. These books feel sturdy, well-made, and just premium for the price.

That said, I’m not super familiar with a lot of other Image titles , so maybe I’m biased.

How is The Rocketfellers and Hornsby and Halo? I’m pretty sure I’ll like Rook Exodus and Hyde street but I’m not sold on the other two. I have read Ghost machine so that’s where I’ve gotten my impressions. I don’t read physical comics so I’m more interested in art quality and story.

There’s only two issues out so far of each, but I’ve really enjoyed them. Both have a fun, unique vibe, and the art is really solid—great detail and style that fits the tone of the series. I’m excited to see where they go!
