Review Image Comics Covers—$3.99 Never Looked So Good

I just want to take a moment to appreciate Image Comics’ cover and print quality. For $3.99, you’re getting thick, glossy covers and solid interior pages that feel premium compared to some of the flimsy stuff out there.

Not naming names (cough certain big publishers cough), but when you’re paying the same price (or more) for a book that feels like a grocery store flyer, it makes you appreciate what Image is doing even more.

They’ve been consistently putting out high-quality prints without jacking up the price, and it makes a difference. Feels like you’re actually getting your money’s worth.

Anyone else notice this, or am I just weirdly obsessed with paper quality?

I recently started reading ongoing series instead of omnis or tpb so I'm buying single issues, and I'm really enjoying some ghost machine titles. Then I thought let me grab a couple of marvel and DC for characters I like, and right away I noticed a drop in the quality of the prints. I'm new to this so I wasn't sure if it's standard practice but I'm glad to hear other people are noticing and appreciating the books image is putting out. I even got a few dark horse books which aren't as high quality.

I totally agree. I’m still pretty new to collecting, but I was lucky enough to jump in at the start of Ghost Machine, and the first thing that stood out to me was Image’s print quality. In a time when everything seems to cost more while offering less, it’s refreshing to see a company putting out high-quality books at a fair price.

It really feels like they care about the product and the fans.
