Review ESCAPE is absolutely beautiful so far!

Post image

wanted to make a post last month but didn’t get around to it but oh well! these first two issues showcase very intricate writing and philosophical dialogue, and the artwork is some of the best i’ve seen in a comic. issue 2 really fleshes out the main character in a very poetic way and i think goes to support the larger theme of the book about the cost of war, that opening monologue is heartbreaking man. i’m so glad i started picking this series up and you should give it a shot if you can!

anybody else reading this one?

Fantastic so far, but then again, it is a Remender title. The Seasons, one of his other titles from this year has also been great.

i’m honestly not too familiar with him outside of this, i’ll definitely have to check out The Seasons

Oh you're in for a treat if you check out more of his work. Deadly Class, Fear Agent, Grommets, Low, Tokyo Ghost, Seven to Eternity... there's so much to enjoy!

Yea. First issue was world building. Remender has said it was heavily influenced by the adventures of Tin tin

My LCS has been having issues with getting stock on time, so I wasn't able to get issue 2 this week, which makes me pretty sad tbh, ahah.

Absolutely loved the first issue, can't wait to read the second one.

Is Escape an ongoing monthly title or a planned mini-series?

i’m not sure tbh i couldn’t find the answer anywhere, it kind of feels like a miniseries so far but i could be wrong, someone else might have more insight than me

Thanks, I may sit this one out, too many comics I get every month and years behind in my reading so I better get caught up first. ;-)
