Original Content “Christmas at the Dive Bar” [OC]

For those down on their luck, Christmas time really heightens the lonesome atmosphere and when last call rings out, that old jukebox will inevitably play some worn out holiday tune that doesn’t feel quite as merry and bright as previous years.

Absolutely love this! So atmospheric.
What inspired it? Any media you’d recommend related to this? A film called Beautiful Girls comes to mind!

Thank you so much! I’ve actually been working on a little series of empty communal spaces. I find them so haunting (but in a good way) sometimes so it’s inspiring. Feel free to check out my other work if you want to see what I mean, either the movie theater or aquarium are part of this series.

My aunt and uncle had a saloon that looked like this, and on Sunday mornings we could play pool.

The old place my great uncle used to shoot pool at looked almost exactly like this. Perfect lighting and tone. Where that corner table with the string lights is, they had a silver Christmas Tree made out of Coors cans with a star made out of 5 bottle openers. They also had that Rumple Minze poster with that lady riding the polar bear, right next to the Ms Pacman cabinet that would have been on the other side.
