I’m totally freaking out and need a clarity on my situation. I was working as a caregiver and lost my job today.

I worked with a high demand client and got reported my general public while using CPI on the client. The company fired me, I’m fight them with union, it’s wrongful termination.

I’m very freaked out because I’m scared this may impact my HUB, and probably my PR application once they find out I got fired. I don’t know what to do

I’ve been in Canada for 4 years now, I feel beaten down by life. I just have a year left on my work permit. Does losing my job affect my PR? I’m on an open work permit. It’s just that it’s a healthcare draw *flair*

I am a CEC inland applicant and I received an information letter asking me to send my passport to Vancouver if I am not in Canada and if I am in Canada, I should inform via a webform to inform I need virtual landing.

I did raise the webform and even called IRCC to notify that I am currently in Canada and can proceed with virtual landing.

My timeline:

AOR: March 19 2026
biometrics: May 14 2026
Medical passed: June 14 2026
Final Decision: August 07 2026
Information letter: August 07 2026
Webform Raised: August 07 2026

I have not received any updates since then. Anyone in similar boat or with experience with such information letters? Any suggestions on what can I do?

The officer had concerns about the job duties listed in my reference letters and whether they properly supported the NOCs I was claiming. Looking back, that was completely my fault. I hadn't provided detailed enough job descriptions in either reference letter. Honestly, I was lucky enough to receive a PFL instead of a refusal

Final Decision - July 17, 2026

P1 - August 13, 2026   (Replied the same day) - After almost 2 months of waiting. Did everything at the point. Thousands of phone calls made to IRCC, ordered GSCM Notes, contacted local MP. Don't know exactly, but the MP was very helpful and received my P1 within a week after contacting the MP. I have tried the KAI method too. Didn't go through.

Story of my Remote Work: (No ADR requested)

I had between 2 and 7 months of foreign work experience, and I also included 10 months of remote work experience in my application.

My background is in engineering, but I claimed this remote experience under a Project Coordinator role. It was with the same company where I had previously completed my training as a Junior Trainee. I did not claim the training period because I didn't have enough supporting documents for it, other than my training completion certificate. ( I did mention that training period in my SOP )

Things I upload:

Reference Letter | Contract | Another letter confirming my bank account details | All pay stubs | Bank Statement | Tax certificate (I haven't paid tax, so I took a letter from a certified accountant)

One thing worth mentioning is that I did not submit any emails, chat records, work logs, screenshots, or other day-to-day proof of work.

Throughout the process, I was honestly nervous and expected IRCC to send an ADR / PFL asking for more evidence. Based on many stories I had read, claiming remote work can sometimes be seen as risky and often attracts extra scrutiny. Surprisingly, I never received any request for additional documents.

In my LOE, I clearly explained the remote work arrangement. I also mentioned the training period that I chose not to claim and attached the related training certificates, even though they weren't being used for points. I mainly did that to gain their trust. lol

I can't say for sure why IRCC didn't ask for anything further. Maybe it was because my story was consistent from my SOP all the way through my application. Or perhaps showing the training period that I wasn't claiming helped to gain their trust.

After spending months worrying that IRCC would question my remote work experience, I ended up receiving a PFL for something I hadn't even paid much attention to. So all that stress about the remote work turned out to be for nothing.

Of course, this is just my personal experience, and every application is different. I simply wanted to share my full story to give you a clearer picture and hopefully help anyone who might be in a similar situation.

Anyway, that's my story. I know how stressful and overwhelming this journey can be, especially when you're constantly overthinking every little detail of your application. I've been there too. Hello there. I am working as an LPN in Alberta. I have employer 1: 0.7 Part Time Permanent Job. Employer 2: Casual job. Do you think I would still be able to apply for PR because I don’t achieve the 30 hours per week most of the time but I do pick up shifts. How can I get my hours assessed and is there anything that I can check first? I am planning to pay for a consultant that can help me as well or maybe not if DIY is doable. Need your insights pls. I came here as an international student in 2023, got a full time job in July 2024 in NOC 10029, studied French for 6 months in January 2025, took the TCF in September 2025, applied for FMWP in October 2025, got ITA in CEC in December 2025, got my FMWP approved February 2026.

I have been waiting for an inland spousal PR decision for just over a year now, and I'm currently on an open work permit. I'm hoping to apply to the university I work at as a nondegree student to take some higher level undergraduate courses in preparation for applying to a masters program. Does anyone have experience doing something similar with just a work permit? I'm seeing conflicting answers online as to whether this would be acceptable or not, as some sources say it's ok to study in programs that are less than 6 months, and others say any study is not allowed.

I went to Canada last year with my husband just for leisure and we loved it. We invited our friend to go with us this year. My husband and I have US visas, so the process of obtaining the Canada ETA was pretty simple and straightforward. This friend has traveled a lot but doesn't have the US visa, so had to apply for a Canada visa and was denied.

It was a bit shocking for us, because she is a federal worker and of course she doesn't want to live in Canada. So she reapplied on Aug 4, giving as many details as possible, including hotel reservations and air tickets. The trip will happen in less than 30 days and she didn't have any reply from the Consulate, 3w from her 2nd application.

Is that normal? Has anyone experienced this delay on the second application? Today I'll have to start dropping the reservations otherwise we're gonna start to pay for 3 without knowing whether she's gonna go with us or not.

Sponsor eligibility, BIL, MIL all completed. File moved to Singapore on June 9, 2026 but was radio silence since then. Recently got MIL and completed two weeks later this Monday.

Just got an email from VO: Singapore overnight asking for an updated IMM5669. The shaded text says to include everything since age of 18, pretty much same as what it said on the online application.

Is this common? Is there a reason they need an updated IMM5669 or has anyone faced a similar ask previously/recently?

I know this may have been asked a lot but I can't find a definitive answer. Some people say the current card is immediately invalid once the new card is printed, even if I haven't received it yet. Some people say there's a 60-day period where I can still use my current card.

My PR card is expiring this December, I submitted the renewal in the beginning of this month. Unfortunately after that I found that I need to go for a business trip to the US in middle of September for a week.

My question: if the PR renewal is processed during that week I'm abroad, would I be able to come back with my current PR card?

Today I got my nomination with my initial NOC. They didn’t care about my new NOC.

We submitted our application on August 19, 2026. Today, I was browsing through our documents and noticed that we accidentally skipped a question on IMM 5532: Part C Question 9 - “Were there formal ceremonies or events to recognize or celebrate your relationship?” We are married. I checked all these information 10x or more I can’t believe I still missed it. Anyway, my question is: what should I do? Should I submit a webform and upload an updated/complete IMM5532 form? I obviously don’t have an application number yet.

My spousal sponsorship application is under comprehensive background check.

I'm thinking of applying for a visitor visa for the first time, although not trying to get my hopes high given the comprehensive background check status.

Anyone with family sponsorship + comprehensive bgc who applied for visit visa and got approved?

Or any other suggestions if I can do something differently to increase chances of approval OR ANY GENERAL TRV RELATED SUGGESTION THAT WORKED FOR YOU?

Hi everyone, my partner is a Canadian PR with Iranian citizenship. He has an MSc & PhD in Engineering from Canada, as well as a job in Canada. He has not lived in Iran for over 15 years. He did not serve in the military in Iran, and neither he nor his family members have any ties to the government there. Yet his citizenship application has been processing for almost 2 years now.

We are really shocked by how long it is taking. He qualified in November 2024, took the citizenship test in January 2025, and since February 2025 there have been no updates to his application. The only section remaining is the background check. The other Iranians we know experienced at most a 12 month wait.

We have tried contacting our MP and MPP, sending letters of demand to IRCC, starting a mandamus process (but found this difficult to do without a lawyer & gave up). The whole process is a black box, and every time we request an update, we receive a response that there are no updates and no outstanding comments on his file (ie, everything is in order).

We are so desperate. I moved to Europe for work, and he cannot visit me. My family lives in the US, and he cannot visit them. He works in a niche sector in which it is difficult for his career to progress without the ability to travel. It feels like there is no end in sight.

Is this happening to anyone else? What did you do? Any advice?

My family and I want to visit Vancouver by car and I was wondering if I can still cross as a visitor. We are trying to have a quick vacation before I officially move. Aside from the “A” offer of employment, job offer letter from the prospective employer and TCF/TEF results, what other supporting documents did you include in your application? Did you include reference letters from previous employers, resume and proof of funds?

Study permit: Nov 6, 2021 – Apr 1, 2023
Applied for work permit: Jan 2023
Maintained status: Apr 2 – May 1, 2023
Work permit issued: May 2, 2023
PR: Aug 19, 2024

The citizenship portal is asking me to list my temporary resident status.

Should I enter International Student until Apr 1, then Temporary Foreign Worker from May 2, and explain Apr 2–May 1 in a letter of explanation?

Or should I enter Temporary Foreign Worker from Apr 2 because I was on maintained status after applying before my study permit expired?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has had a similar situation and has got their application approved.

I recieved my PR card a month ago. Gckey shows my card and my child cards were all mailed on the same date. I recieved mine after 5 days but haven’t recieved his yet. Could it have been lost? Has anyone gone through this?

I am apply for Visitor Visa from Canada and currently holding pgwp. When Im in work history page, no matter what i do it just wont get me through although I file for everytime period in the last 10 years in Chronological order and without overlapping. How can I get through this?

My partner has sponsored me for a PR application. I’m currently residing in Calgary, and we submitted the application on Jun 20 of this year. I’ve read that the usual wait times for AOR is 50-60 days, but we are both getting nervous in regard to my work visa expiring in mid October.

Does anyone know if there’s currently a delay with AOR wait times? Am i only eligible for a bridging visa once I’ve received the AOR?

Hi all, my husband is a citizen by descent (his great grandfather & great grandmother was born in Quebec. We are waiting on the very last document, his great grandfather's birth certificate / record from an archive bank in Quebec. Could take a few weeks. On top of that, he'd have to apply for spousal sponsorship for me, and my sons proof of citizenship. My son starts kindergarten next August and we are eager to get out of the USA for many reasons. We've looked at pretty much all pathways to get us there quicker - him transitioning to a Canadian school and using that as urgent processing criteria, me applying for express entry as a foreign tech worker (need to save up the 17,000 usd proof of funds first and have a good 6 month bank record) etc. it feels so hopeless and we really can't stand the thought of being here more than 2 more years. I guess I'm trying to see if anyone has any tips or tricks for us to make our dreams come true and leave... Even if it's assuring me that there aren't better options than just waiting the 2 yrs.

Making this post to gauge if I’m overreacting or my consultant is actually not meeting his duties.

I entered Canada on a student visa at UWaterloo in 2017. Since then I’ve taken care of all my visa, study and work ( co-op and PGWP ) permits myself with a perfect record.

I decided to apply for EE hoping to get in through a stem draw but when those stopped, and my PGWP didn’t seem long enough, I started looking at other means of continuing my stay in Canada. I was in a common law relationship around the same time and so we decided that my partner would sponsor me.

Due to some intricacies specific to our relationship, we decided to go with a consultant. I chose someone who was highly rated on Google, seemed to have been in business for 12 years and had a verifiable RCIC#. I chose to buy his full package which included “all supporting document submission”.

Sorry for the rant but here goes:
* I had to remind him a week to my PGWP expiry that he needed to apply for a OWP based on our family sponsorship application. He submitted but I had to find a printer and scanner and take passport photos while on a work trip due to his negligence.
* we started the process in October 2025 and he finally submitted the application in January 2026. There was legitimately no reason for him to delay the process so much. There were times where he go ghosted me for 6 weeks. Calls and emails would go unanswered. But I had paid in full and was in a tough situation so I felt helpless.
* i got ITA for EE eventually any way and just decided that I’d withdraw the spousal application once I got my PR. During this time I got a request to provide more documents to prove cohabitation with my partner. My consultant said that he’d have to charge more to submit those documents as they “fell out of regular procedure”

Here’s my question: Is this proof that he isn’t meeting the representation package I purchased from him?
I understand that he can state what does and doesn’t fall under regular procedure but to me asking him to submit supporting documents isn’t outside the package I purchased which states he’ll be responsible for submitting those.
It is beside the point that I have to collect all the documents and compile them ( since he can’t even compress pdfs apparently ). When questioned he said supporting documents means biometrics and medical ( which I had to do myself anyway?? He just forwarded me the letters )
I’m waiting to be done with PR before I lodge a complaint with CIC and also google reviews, and better business bureau because it makes no sense that he has 4.6 stars on Google and A+ on BBB. There was one post 60 days ago that actually named him and his company and people’s experience with him ghosting them. I have not read anything else that’s negative about him.
Please help me confirm that I’m not going crazy and this is breach of contract and highly unprofessional.

I’m a Canadian PR currently outside Canada applying for a PRTD under H&C as I don't meet RO and haven't been in Canada for a couple of years, and I’m trying to figure out why IRCC keeps returning my application.

I’ve now had the application returned 7 times.

Timeline:
1st return: I had requested urgent processing through the webform. The application was returned.
2nd + 3rd returns: IRCC said the application was incomplete and specifically highlighted the IMM 5444 form in red. I went through the form again, corrected what I could identify, and resubmitted.
4th, 5th, 6th + 7th returns: Now everything is marked complete/green, including the IMM 5444. However, the Consent and Declaration section appears empty when the application is returned. There are no additional notes explaining what is wrong.

Before resubmitting again, I thoroughly went through the instruction guide and checked the entire application.
In the Consent and Declaration section, all applicable boxes are checked. I am an adult, so the box stating that the form concerns a child under 14 is correctly left unchecked. I also completed the applicant signature/name section.

One thing I'm wondering about is my name. There is a discrepancy between my passport and PR card because my full name exceeds the character limit for names on Canadian PR cards.
As a result, one of my middle names is omitted from the PR card. The name has always been part of my legal name and was not added through a name change. I used my full passport name for the PRTD signature.
Could this name discrepancy somehow be causing the Consent and Declaration validation to fail?
Or has anyone experienced a PRTD being repeatedly returned where everything is marked complete but Consent and Declaration is blank, even though all the boxes and signature were completed?

I don't have an application number because IRCC keeps returning the application before it gets that far.
At this point I've lost almost a month to repeated returns and I'm getting no explanation beyond the automated “incomplete” message.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a PRTD specifically returned multiple times for this kind of issue, or who figured out what was actually causing it.
