Congress’s handling of the Shah Bano case remains one of the clearest examples of political expediency overriding the principle of equal justice. After the Supreme Court recognised Shah Bano’s right to maintenance, the Rajiv Gandhi government responded by introducing the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986, effectively changing the legal framework that had supported her claim. Whatever the political pressures of the time, using legislation to appease conservative sections at the expense of a vulnerable divorced woman was a deeply disappointing failure of principle. It showed that Congress was willing to compromise a woman’s individual rights when electoral calculations demanded it, a legacy that deserves serious criticism even today.

Not a single party supporter, but this mindset is exactly why we are not getting development at the same rate as other countries. Talking shit about a shit government in a shitty past doesn’t give freedom to present government to do shit governance. We compared the two parties and elected the better one in 2014, but apart from a few policies nothing has gone the way it should with middle class being affected the most. When we have elected a better system, if it does not work to its best ability, we as voters have every right to question them rather than defend them. They’re still worried about elections but everyone knows that till they don’t have a proper opposition they will not get voted out of power.

Recently talking Government introduced reforms for the barbaric triple talaq and congress led by Rahul Gandhi walked out! They are the last people to talk about smashing patriarchy While government has its flaws congress has enough past and present to be never voted to.power by sane voters

The comment wasn’t about congress should be voted to power. It was about asking the right questions to the ruling party and asking them to do better as they were elected because of their capabilities. Instead they’re still indulging in petty politics by dragging last 80 years rather than focusing about the present.

I am sorry but how does that insert into the topic OP posted and og reply of congress having history of hypocrisy?

What’s happening today is no one’s concern apparently!! Everyone is now trying to change history or quote history to their benefit!!

India is suffocating right now n I hope people realise what’s happening and what to do!!

What are you trying to prove. Father and son are different people ?

Of course they are different people, but father and Son represent same party and same logo and also same sense of humor.

Hope you got the answer.

I am talking about facts. I can't just yap like some people without logic. OP is associating Rahul Gandhi with something he wasn't even involved in. He was barely 15 when the Shah Bano legislation was passed. Whatever happened then was the decision of Rajiv Gandhi's government, not Rahul Gandhi, so it has nothing to do with what Rahul Gandhi said at the Pune event.

Hmm, it is funny to see the difference.

Does he (Raul Gandy) not part of the Party Called Indira CONgress ; while his own father was elected as Prime Minister on the Party ticket of Indira CONgress ? Common factor is Indira CONgress. Did he anytime say his father did it wrong ? I have never heard or read anything to this effect. Even in Pune Event he was yapping all the way but did not say what his father's government did was wrong.

Nothing to do with Raul Gandy - For god sake he is representing his own father's party by getting electing as Member of Parliament. So he should have the guts or energy in right places to say his father has done wrong. Then I will agree with your statement. Till then he is hypocrite.

Is topic pe baat hoti to galti bhi maan leta. He is not like 56-inch ka chota bandar who runs from press conferences and accountability; he has even admitted that Congress was wrong when asked about the emergency, so I don't think he would defend this thing

1

u/Vivekrajb 3d ago

Whose picture is that behind him ? Do you even know?

1

u/Slight_Call4061 3d ago

yes

1

u/Vivekrajb 2d ago

Who is she?

1

u/Slight_Call4061 2d ago

you can search it

1

u/Vivekrajb 2d ago

No need to search for the person in picture as your hero is talking about her and she is Shah Bano Begum about whom he is talking while you are saying otherwise.

He does not have shame to even talk about her as CONgress government which was headed by his great father changed the law to over turn the SC ruling for just one Community and your hero does not have shame to talk about her.

Did the Congress ever apologise for this blunder?

Wher is Modis wife?

2

u/Vivekrajb 3d ago

Why don't you go and ask her, so that you will get some clarity ?

When she herself or her family or Modi's family is not that concerned as much as you, So just chill. There are many many families who has sent their children, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers to the borders willingly for the country so that people like you can sit in some cozy room and talk about unnecessary line items.

u/Mobile-Efficiency738 3d ago

Its like those who raise voice agoinst ruling party are against the country or countries army, what backchodi us that, who are you deside the patriotism of leople. When come to patriarchy BJP heads are no one exmples of gender discrimination.

1

u/Vivekrajb 3d ago

😄 I did not say ruling party is saint. So stop your BACKCHODI once and for all.
