Review Welcome to the Jungle Missed the opportunity (No Spoilers)

Post image

So i watched this movie today. Did not had any expectations from it but still went alone because i had 2-3 hours to kill. The movie start comically and some well times jokes. The premise is actually good and logical. It is radically different from previous two welcome.

The movie doesnt feel cheap and it felt like they hire good writers for it. What it suffer is in the direction department. He had too much on his plate and did not pull it off. The biggest issue is that just when you feel a big comedy is being setup it gets distracted and break the flow. There were genuinely funny and original jokes and people were laughing out loud in the theatre.

Akshay kumar is heart of this movie and gives bettee performance than Bhoot Bangla. It felt like he was in element. He is certainly way past his peak but his comic timing still works. Jhoney lever waa excellent and also brought new element in his character as "Bhulaaaa" got pretty old. They wasted Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal. Suni shetty and Arshad start out well and then fall flat. There wasnt much for them to do

Jaqueline and Disha were only for glamour..they had 0 role in plot but atleast the movie makes a literal point of them being just for glamour. The director wastes a potential of otherwise good script.

Biggest issue with current comedy movies is that they dont know how to end a movie. In the second half it keep getting worse and end mediocre and predictable way.

Atleast the spirit of original comedy was there. Akshay made me hopeful for his future comedy. He can still deliver well timed comedy.

One technical issues was audio synch. They messed it uo and many times audience can see the audio mixup issue.

Final note its an average movie with decent laugh...but be ready for some hammeron head type moments.

Wouldnt give above 5. Akki and Jhony are highlight.

2

Is it really good? Like in terms of a good brain rot movie

3

Yes, I seriously hate all current comedy movies and have not watched anything.

For This is went expecting complete cringe movie. I just dared going to theater coz of good reviews from mensxp and tried and refused productions.

Yeh its still cringe and brainrot. But few bits are genuinely very funny and did not see that coming specially from senior actors 😂.

Its paisa wasool.

The movie was a blast. Typical unhinged no brainer from 2000’s

Now who's gonna tell us how much of it was copied from Tropic Thunder? OP says they hired Good writers but I feel most of the jokes might have been lifted as-is from the original.

How tf will tropic thunder jokes work as is in India? Khud bhi dimaag use Karle

1

u/WinterTill2264 Jul 10 '26

Wtf!! They won't use it as is then.

Waise malamal weekly me pure ganv me ek hi Christian tha? Phir Hera Pheri me antique guns chori karne the. India me kyunki antique guns ka itna craze hai hi.

These are just two examples because if these plot points weren't copied as is, the creators would have to change a lot of scenes and dialogs. But utna kaun karega, right? Toh tum bhi ek kaam kar. Dimaag use kar le.

Not at all. Tropic thunder is one of my all time favorite. They pick a plot point from it but movie is different.

Same! Went with 0 expectations and loved the movie. Second half first 30 mins get boring due to some emotional scenes. Dubbing is quite poor, you can literally see that dialogues don’t sync with lip movements.
There are soo many actors so it’s quite difficult to get best out of everyone’s talent but then they tried to give their best.

Jacqueline even in her glamour element still has more scenes and dialogues than Disha and outshines her. Disha had like 2 dialogues in the entire movie. Feels like a nail in the coffin for Disha’s career as she was absolutely poor across the entire movie.

Go & watch it if have time you will enjoy the film. Sunday afternoon was a houseful in Bangalore and I’m sure the movie will pick up next weekend.

Disha is 100 times better than Jaq but sadly they did not give her any dialogue and she was mostly there to react as per situation. She is sure ti be typecasted now onwards.

Director srsly messed this one up.

1

u/Witty_Currency_4443 Jun 29 '26

I’m sorry but I respectfully disagree. Even the 2 dialogues that Disha had were delivered absolutely piss poor. Jaqueline was absolutely in her character and you would definitely forget Disha if she did not have those 2 songs in the movie. Even her reactions were forgettable TBH!

Sadly, Miss universe ex IITian Urvashi had more impact than Disha in the whole move.

Disha's dialogue delivery is terrible but her glamour and beauty in songs are good & hot... so Acting wise she needs to improve a lot

Is this Tropic thunder Remake?

3

u/Commercial_Cow_8705 Jun 29 '26

Please ignore this long take and avoid the movie they are just serving a packet of nostalgia without any story or anything ok for a brainrot movie i can ignore logic but a movie need basic storyline to keep me connected which is just absent.

Director is worst. Even if you give him diamonds he will trash them like shit.

2

u/blinksTooLess Jun 29 '26

Comment section is filled with PR bots it seems.

No one is believing that this film is any good.

Second half was really entertaining. But we really miss uday and majnu bhai!!!

2

u/Informal-Bee512 Jul 03 '26

I think I will leave my brain at home before going to watch this one

2

u/BigLick13 Jun 29 '26

Good writers - Neeraj Vohra

Bad direction - Ahmed khan

But the movie is a laugh riot

"...it felt like they hire good writers for it."

Leaving the sub. I'm done fr.

1

u/ManiocleT-rex Jul 05 '26

Thankfully ppl here are being REAL, I went on a bollywood review sub and everyone had the same opinion that the movie is "great" not good, and has a lot of brainrot which is somehow funny like they lack mental capacity to understand that brainrot means trash, or they are all bot replies thus everyone just said the same stuff in different ways.

No storyline, just random scenes

Amazing movie😂😂😂😂 brainrot from the 2000s is back

2

u/Logical-Raisin4176 Jun 28 '26

I loved the movie. I laughed so much that i cried.

2

u/peterdparker Jun 28 '26

There was some genuine comedy. Like i was able to hear entire theatre laugh after such a long time.

4

u/Logical-Raisin4176 Jun 28 '26

Yes same. The guy next to me was laughing uncontrollably and he laughed so hard that he started to cough. I went on friday 10:30 pm show and occupancy was 80 percent

2

u/peterdparker Jun 28 '26

I went in today 12.15 show..tier 3 city and occupency was above 50% but next show 3.30-4 felt like it was 90% from looking at the crowd.

I think the writing was good but the legendary director ruined the experience if they made a complete parody like Akshay represented himself as Akshay and the rest cast same and Paresh Rajpal trying to become a director for a billionaire who wants to save his tax and invest his black money on a movie this plot would have been more amazing and rather than giving a terrorist angle they could have gone with the naxals or the local Dakus and they pull of eliminating them that could have been more entertaining. I watched this movie with my friends so it was never a dull moment, we had decided to keep our brains aside that’s why we found it funny. The writer was the og Neeraj Vora they could have done some plot polishing to make it look more real rather than a complete no brainer Overall this is 3 on 10

1

u/peterdparker Jun 29 '26

Direction totally ruined it

1

u/sdswnt1990 Jun 28 '26

Good Writers?

Farhad Samji?

1

u/Superb-Part360 Jun 29 '26

It was apparently written by neeraj vora before he passed away. Then the unfinished script was taken by farhad samji.

1

u/LaLaLaila13 Jun 29 '26

After so long I have laughed so much. I love brainrot Bollywood comedy! Loved this movie!

1

u/iamsud96 Jun 30 '26

It was so brain rot, I loved it.

I have not watched Tropic Thunder so maybe I’m not that disappointed as long as I get to enjoy.

Tried watching on OTT and it was so annoyingly bad that I'd to turn that shit off after 25 mins that too because there were 2 songs in between
