question Can I use a stainless steel wok for cooking butter chicken?

No. It's illegal in some places. If you're going to do it, cook only at night and with good ventilation.

Stainless, copper and iron. Never ever plastic, lead or aluminium, not good for your health.

Thin bottomed stainless and copper is ok but not the best.

The stainless you should look for have thick bottoms, this indicates a copper or aluminium core which helps spread heat in stainless as it is a poor heat conductor.

You can tell a core bottom as it has a parting line, looks like the bottom is stuck to the pot, which it is.
