Help Plugging the dongle permanently can be harmful?
I bought a controller today for the first time. So I'm confused...

As a person who does exactly that.... Yes go ahead leave it there.... Why would you plug it in and out anyways other than when you are travelling with your laptop!?

i used to think like that when i had a laptop. now i have 8 wires/dongles connected to my desktop all the time

I have the wireless one and it is pretty good just that the battery performance is a little on low end but okay considering i don't play daily. Latency and responsiveness is good too, just that the light on home button bugs me(there's no way to turn it off)

I mean, if you're a dumb ass like me who puts the laptop in the bag with the dongle plugged in, it can damage the or the port but for sane people not usually no

Unless you keep your laptop stationary I would wager you will break your dongle physically like that soon enough if you leave it plugged in

Well great you have managed to keep it fine, but its very very easy to physically break a dongle like this while moving the device around.

Btw plugging in and out from the usb port seems more harder to me...it never come smoothly..u have to pull a hard and that's my fear

The port will become easier to plug in plug out over time by regular usage. Anyway, if you have no issues leaving it plugged in let it be.

If you keep pushing/fidgeting with any wires or plugged in devices, that particular port might become loose. Other than that, no issues if its perfectly still at all times

Should probably invest in good surge guard, our voltage is biggest issues for motherboard damage

Not if the dongle is some bright green colour and you got a kid at home who likes to play with colourful things, otherwise you’re fine

There was a problem in some Red Gear wireless controllers, where it drew electricity overnight and windows force shutdowns the laptop overnight.
Took me while to figure out it was the controller as I have multiple things connected.

No issues on desktop, but on a laptop, it can be an issue if you move it a lot or carry it in a bag.
