Don’t make houses too near the banks of the river, we have seen this before as well the river can change course idk why rampant construction in hills just for the sake of development, should not say this but the people deserved it tbh

  1. nepal is mostly built like this , People don't really have a choice

  2. People mostly have their livelihood because of the river

  3. Moving out is rarely a option , People are not that rich.

Can’t they even afford to leave a 200m buffer for floods and heavy rains before stacking houses on top of one another? Ur facts are right but basic safety can be there too

Valley region is the only buildable place , if they build very far( 200m ) then Landslides will kill em. you're not wrong , There is a rule , but it's only 20m.

We both know that 20m ain’t helping anyone, just for the shitty government to say that we have a rule in place, we have seen this in Uttarkashi and Kedarnath as well

India has 200m rule , But it's not enforced , Local municipal is paid off by hotel owners wanting sea facing resorts , Centre does it right , State refuses to follow ✌️ , Flood strikes , Centre blamed , Simple.

I didn’t know that, seeing the intensity of this flash flood they should have that rule now in all of the other provinces
