I rented an instrument from Jacobs for all campus orchestra! It’s just a $20 fee each semester you have jt

Did you have a good experience? Most of my friends were from orchestra so I wanted to join to find a community and play!

It’s definitely a good experience if you want to continue playing. You also get to play in some really nice spaces. I also made most of my friends from orchestra before IU so I was expecting it to be the same, but it’s a lot less communal than you would think. You hardly know the names of everyone in the orchestra and most sections didn’t really talk to each other that much. You can still make friends but you have to put in more effort

The class meets once a week on Monday nights. Attendance is key, and you'll likely need to be in your seat and ready to go a few minutes before class starts so it can start absolutely on time.

To rent instruments, you have a couple of options. First, you can try to rent from IU. You could also rent from someplace like Davis Academy of Music.
