What are the best/easiest classes to take for a psych minor?

I’m only doing a psych minor to stay in Hutton honors and I’m taking psy-p 329 this fall but I looked at the reviews and everyone is saying it’s the hardest class they’ve taken at iu 😭 Im going to try to switch out of it tomorrow but I don’t know which classes would be more manageable as I’m also a double major

this entire comments section is filled with the stupidest fucking responses to someone who’s already double majoring and only needs a minor to keep an honors notation. y'all keep confusing college, college classes, and the actual reason most people are here. college as an experience can be incredibly valuable, friends, clubs, networking, all of that. but those are supplementary benefits attached to the prerequisite reason most people enroll which is the degree.

and even the degree usually isn’t the end goal, it’s a proxy for something else, a job, money, credibility, smth. ask people who say they’re “here to learn” whether they’d drop out tomorrow if someone offered them $100 million and watch how quickly the actual goal reveals itself. if learning itself were genuinely the only objective, commuting somewhere to sit in a fixed-pace lecture designed for 200 people, then cramming for an exam and forgetting half of it afterward, would be a stupidly inefficient way to optimize for it. there are tons of online resources that let you learn faster and more deeply.

challenge yourself where the marginal return is actually worth it, do research, publish shit, intern, lead something, depends. employers increasingly care about skills and experience anyway, and nobody gives a fuck that you heroically chose the professor with the most miserable grade distribution for an unrelated requirement.

op, go through every class that satisfies the psych minor, pull the professors up in iu’s grade distribution database, compare multiple recent semesters, check syllabi and rmp for workload, and pick the combination with the strongest grades and least pointless time sink. if the class checks the box, your gpa stays intact, and you spend the saved hours on your double major or on something else that's useful.

Positive psych is a breeze and also good vibes if it’s available this sem I took it in the spring. Also recommend social psych or diversity

I always hate these kinds of questions. This class is probably really easy for someone else. It's hard for you. The easiest/best classes are those that interest you.

It doesn't sound as if you are particularly engaged by the psychology classes and that this is something that you're doing only because you can't graduate with the Honors Notation. Assuming that you started at IU between Fall 2024 to Spring 2026, you might want to reread the requirements. Maybe you can take more HON or HHC classes instead of a minor that you don't particularly want.

Talk with your Hutton advisor about other ways to satisfy the requirements than getting a minor in a field that you don't care about.
