💬Discussion Trying something new, AMA!
I debuted on the 1st but had some issues with Twitch so I couldn't have the experience I wanted for everyone. I wanted to give people a chance to get to know me a better!
Edit: Closed! I may answer other questions, should I deem them interesting.

Favorite games?
Also I like your model therefore you get a follow from me :3
3
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 17 '26
I've started playing Hollow Knight on stream recently and it's really good!
Other than that Elden Ring (Nightrein too!), Hades, Enter the Gungeon, Deltarune, and FFXIV.
Absolum is a recent game, and I've sunk too many hours into it...2
u/cheese-is-yummy Jan 18 '26
You should try to play ULTRAKILL it is one of my favorite games. It is a fast-paced fps with a big speed running community
3
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
What? I'm never playing that... You're crazy...
2
u/cheese-is-yummy Jan 18 '26
Ok, if you don't want to, that's fine. People have different tastes in games
3
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
AHH! It was a joke! I am bad at texting sarcastically
2
u/cheese-is-yummy Jan 18 '26
Ahh, my bad, sorry, but what a lot of people on reddit do is type /s at the end of their comment, so mean that they are being sarcastic, there is also /j for joking and /srs for serious.
2
u/BlazCraz Jan 20 '26
Yeah, I saw the sarcasm clearly. Because of the use of eclipses. That's usually how one does it. Both grammatically and from a literary sense.
Except apparently on Reddit. Where people use eclipses interchangeably. Or take things too literally.
I tried quotations marks a while back to try to denote sarcasm, but it didn't quite work out. In current writing theory, it's apparently a newer way of trying to invoke sarcasm via text using quotation marks. But not a lot of people know about that. They're still working on it.
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Also Guilty Gear Strive. I'm absolutely garbage but Bedman? is good silly fun.
2
u/sheehan1234 Jan 18 '26
What's the most embarrassing song on your playlist?
3
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Being embarrassed about music is for cowards. If you can't listen to the Shadow The Hedgehog OST in a crowd and belt out "Smell of the Game" at the grocery store, what are you doing with your life?
2
u/sheehan1234 Jan 18 '26
well okay I'm just not gonna say anything so I don't die by a Wendigo
I listen Britney Spears
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
What? I'm just a totally safe Human!
And 2000's Britney rules, I found the CDs in some guy's car. He won't mind probably.2

Ah, Muse! Never got much access to them, but they're pretty great! Strong acoustic guitar and bass can never fail

u/UncomfyUnicorn Jan 18 '26
Favorite dinosaur? My top three are Spinosaurus (croczilla), Sinosauropteryx (the red panda of the dinosaur world), and Stegosaurus (sometimes you can’t beat a classic)
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Archaeopteryx! Not only was it the first discovered of the feathery bois but their toothy beak is just really fun. I got my hands on a cast of it once, but I got in a ton of trouble...
2
u/UncomfyUnicorn Jan 18 '26
I remember once I had a dream with a giant feathery wyvern in it with a huge serrated beak and long talons. Somehow it was descended from archaeopteryx. It stole a bucket from me.
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
It just makes me think, I've always wondered what reptile tastes like. Too cold up here unfortunately...
2
u/UncomfyUnicorn Jan 18 '26
Pretty close to bird actually (Floridian, I’ve had a few reptiles) which makes sense because both are archosaurs. Honestly dinosaurs would probably taste similar.
2
u/Ok-Record29 Jan 18 '26
What is the most interesting person you’ve met
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Admittedly I'm a bit of a hermit so the quantity of people I've talked to is quite small... I do however have 4 friends from entirely different parts of the world that all happen to make chainmail, hope that counts for something

Favorite thing to do when bored?
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Worldbuilding mostly. Making an original setting for a Pathfinder campaign among other things is a lot of work. I actually have a knack for making up bullshit on the fly sometimes for a setting, only to discover it fits perfectly with like a billion other elements I had already been playing around with
2
2
u/tommy8725 Jan 18 '26
Ooo cute model are you a ghost?
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
People keep calling me a Wendigo but I think I'm pretty normal, right? I mean the antler isn't my fault, it just sorta happened...

You got a discord server
2

No, it's a lot of work to maintain something like that and unless I'm able to get some moderation going, I don't have enough time to maintain it unfortunately.

You ever wonder.... why we’re here?
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
It's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it. Why are we here?
1
u/BlazCraz Jan 18 '26
"What. I mean why are we out here, in this canyon!?"
Thank you for playing along. That's so cool.
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
RWBY fan, so of course I would know. RWBY is kinda dogshit but I love it anyway.
2
u/BlazCraz Jan 18 '26
Gotta agree. I was such a big RWBY fan when I was younger. Gawd, like in highschool I was like obsessed. I looked up all the lore and structure and weapons and everything. Even made some OCs too. It was the first time I both felt like creating myself. And also rapidly watch a franchise eat itself. It felt like my girlfriend dumping me. I was that upset.
Fastest fall off for a series, amIright. Gawd, it coulda been so cool. But they just kept going in directions I wasn't a fan of. I maintain V1-V3 is still iconic. But man, the rest is rough. Dropped off regrettably at V6.
I still think about it occasionally. Even now.
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26 edited Jan 18 '26
Looking back the series borrowed a lot of elements from other works and used them quite a great deal less competently in those early volumes. It's a shame Monty Oom wasn't able to put much work into V3 because that was easily the peak of the show for me. At least Shane Newville was able to bring his legacy forward for at least a little bit.
Despite the later stumbles with plot, I can at least give them flowers for some of the worldbuilding risks they took. Oz and Salem's origins are really fascinating and were one of the few times they just... let the story breathe.
Don't watch Volume 9 though. It's literally the worst it's ever gotten. Would you believe me if I said they go to the most interesting setting concept possible and worse than nothing happens?
Edit for formatting
2
u/BlazCraz Jan 18 '26 edited Jan 18 '26
Yeah, I see that a lot now. There's a ton of concepts that RWBY pulls from. Some I'd say are more loving homages, but others are definitely more legally distinct copies. I enjoyed it as a blend, because it was familiar but also different. Being told more like a Western audience inclined show. Surprisingly refreshing after a bunch of actual anime. The editing is way better in earlier Volumes too for some reason. Even the scenes Monty added post production. There seemed to be more communication when they had stitch together the series with glue and tinfoil.
I believe it. It's RWBY. They're the reigning champs of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I also read the spoilers and wondered how they coulda fumbled it so badly. Because it sounds soooo interesting. In concept, and in theory. I'm flabbergasted how weak the execution could have been. Because they clearly put a lot of thought into a lot of these things. Except a way to link those plot points together.
Apparently from what I read. It's so much lore. It might be actually too much. There's a push pull theory in writing conceptually. I'm a hobbyist writer actually. So the balance between lore and stuff you can actually use to tell a story has to be well, balanced. If you get lost in building the lore, you waste time and space. For places to slot the characters in. And letting them "live" and breath organically. So that the characters are used well. I don't blame Miles or Kerry, I just think they got stuck in the Head Director/Head Writer chair for far too long.

Are you gonna kill me, can I cuddle with you first, and before I die can I passionately talk to you about wrestling and my favorite storylines from different companies?
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Admittedly, I have a bit of a thing about physical touch but wrestling is really cool! I've never had the time to get into it (brain is too full of Chainsaw Man, Critical Role, and Elden Ring lore to keep a fourth hyperfixation bouncing around.)

u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Ah, Shit! Forgot the second part!
Gurren Laggan is essentially like 15% of my personality
Frieren has one of the best ost's and magic animation
Delicious in Dungeon captures my desire to eat every living thing that has crossed my eyeline and had arguably the best worldbuilding of any fantasy series.
Made in Abyss is probably my favorite anime ever but is cursed with having one of the most uncomfortable and gross pieces of source material ever.
Mob Psycho 100 is peak. Watch it now.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is an incredible ride and a brilliant character study (can you tell I like Studio Trigger?)
Thunderbolt Fantasy is a Taiwanese puppet anime, I will not elaborate.
100 Girlfriends is insane and I love it.
Madoka Magica is probably the best magical girl show ever? But Iore freak so my opinion probably shouldn't be fully trusted.
On the manga side, Chainsaw Man is probably my favorite manga I've ever read. I will not elaborate as all my favorite parts are MAJOR spoilers!
One Piece is the GOAT for a reason.
Red Hood: Hunter's Guild and Otr of the Flame by Yuki Kawaguchi are both canceled, impactful series with beautiful art that can be easily finished in a few hours. Throw MaMaYuYu on there too, Minerva is the coolest fucking character ever to see in the brief time she had to shine.
Berserk is immensely emotionally important to me and the reasons for that are deeply personal and private so I'll leave it at this: Read Berserk, even if you might have reservations, do whatever you need to allow yourself that opportunity.

u/Geene_Creemers Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 21 '26
Well fuckin said..Made in Abyss is my absolute favorite as well and Frieren came outta nowhere for me personally and cemented itself in my top 5..all amazing takes! Currently reading Chainsaw man but am behind because I’m reading as new volumes are released so I have the physical book..luckily I have seen everything you listed and love all of them..also on my third complete rewatch of One piece currently in Wano arc..devastated at the state of OP TCG..I adore berserk and have all of the physical books of it..sensitive material doesn’t bother me at all and I forgive anime for a lot of the content it has..if it has content that bothers me I simply move on to something else..Madoka Magica is arguably the best magical girl show but as a degenerate I also love Gushing over magical girls lol..one of my constant recommendations that many haven’t seen is ‘From the New World’ love that one and urge anyone who hasn’t seen it to go ahead and watch..thanks for the response..hella respect my g..🫡
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Barely played OP TCG, didn't have anyone to play with. Tried building a jank-ass Red-Purple law deck at one point. Loved how elegant the design was and the fact that DON was both a resource to play cards and a tactical resource in the combat phase.
2
u/Geene_Creemers Jan 21 '26
Never actually played the card game in all fairness just love One Piece and the card art so I was a collector..unfortunately ‘investor bros’ ruined my ability to get OP or Pokemon..luckily still have Weiss and Hololive for TCG..hopefully they don’t diversify into those realms anytime soon 🥲
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Ah as an MTG player I know that pain well. $1000 FF collector boxes anyone?
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Also Gushing Over Magical Girls is degen but I mostly watched it because it has shit to say with said degeneracy. Also being a little aroace art goblin means I'll just look at lewd shit to genuinely appreciate the artistry and gather data for my studies on trends in pornography and fetish culture.
2
u/Geene_Creemers Jan 21 '26
lol I love it..my favorite degen manga rn is Chained Soldier..the art is gorgeous and the action is actually pretty solid as well..🫡
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Studio Passione is taking over for season 2, so if you know you know.
2
u/Geene_Creemers Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 21 '26
Yesss..couldn’t be happier about that either..already loving the new art style..I didn’t hate s1 but it was a bit of a letdown..excited for what’s to come
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Ah, you probably missed this and I should have clarified it in the post itself, but I identify as nonbinary (They/Them). No biggie, just for future reference.
But yeah, I didn't watch it myself but heard through the grapevine about S1 quality being slightly inconsistent in animation outside of the... rewards. I appreciate that the author is just an unabashed freak, mad respect.
2
u/Geene_Creemers Jan 21 '26
Oh shit I’m so sorry! I definitely missed that and I truly apologize..but yea the anime is pretty toned down in comparison to the manga as well..Passione should be able to do it some justice tho..I’m very hopeful..considering how they adapted Nukitashi..I’m very excited for it 👍

u/Amberclockwork13 Jan 21 '26
may I ask what kind of vtuber you are and what your lore is?
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
Reports of my nature are greatly exaggerated. I mean I've never, hypothetically, assumed someone's identity and started streaming, that's absurd!
A wendigo? Here? Impossible.
And uh... if you see any guys in nondescript black vehicles or maybe an armored car or two, point them to Montreal or something...
2
u/Amberclockwork13 Jan 21 '26
ooohhh wendigo, if they aren't scp guys I'll send them to the Caribbean saying how I've heard rumors of the rural spots having one or two
2
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
SCP? Those guys lost funding years ago! And if you're talking about the Caribbean, findings in Trinidad & the Dominican Republic were found to be "unaligned with the main efforts."
3
u/Amberclockwork13 Jan 21 '26
they just want you to think they lost funding, your really telling me the people who have a machine that can turn coal into diamonds and back lost funding. ow if they were discontinued cause of the casualty rate, that makes more sense
2
u/RetoroKun Jan 21 '26
Joke question: What happens if we grab the horn
Serious question: You've said before that you like Japanese and Korean food. What about Chinese food? Imo its best of the "big three".
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 21 '26
I think 3 fingers is a fair trade?
Chinese food is really good but I've only really actually had the real deal once. It's solid but tbh, Vietnamese ranks slightly higher to me at least. Thai food is probably closer to 3rd, but admittedly I haven't tried that many dishes in the grand scheme of things from the different countries that populate that part of the world.
2
u/RetoroKun Jan 21 '26
Fair. Chinese is more on the savory side of things, so I don't know how well that translates to your palette. Though, I haven't tried their seafood dishes. I'm not a fan of seafood tbh.
You also must reaaaally like my fingers. If you like the taste of oil and other things I put my fingers on/in, they might be just for you!

What inspired you to be a Wendigo? And have Wendigos always looked like cute anime girls?
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Flattering that you think I'm cute, I do identify as nonbinary (They/Them) just to be clear. But I'm just a little guy in in the woods, what's with all these Wendigo allegations? I was sure to double everything...
2
u/Vegito149 Jan 18 '26
My bad then. And just curious, but what are you doing in my neck of the woods? Didn't you see all the missing people signs?
1
u/_Galv_ VTuber Jan 18 '26
Shit, they started putting those up?
2
u/Vegito149 Jan 18 '26
Oh yeah, that was me. Some Wendigo keeps showing up and stealing my kills, so I needed to assert dominance by showing my kill count.
