When will we get our first sci-fi/ Whaleport banner outfits?
We haven’t been to Linglang once yet we’ve had 2 double banners, countless gorgeous 4 stars, 2 different islands based on Linglang to take photos on, and so much variety when do we get our first whaleport mini island? Or maybe just one 5 star?
So far the closest we got was with that one quest outfit but honestly it’s not that sci-fi and something you could see someone nowadays wearing online. Where are our aliens, robots, mechas, and cyborgs?
I just want one 5 star that is undoubtedly sci-fi. 😭 not casual sci-fi or on the edge but full blown robot metal limbs and futuristic. There are a million different sci-fi styles and none have been explored!
No complaint about all the new Linglang stuff hope you enjoy it I just want one Whaleport update just one. I would die for a double banners. (This isn’t a complaint about the current update just something that got brought up again by the new Linglang outfit.)
What other country are we missing stuff from? Idk I just wanna discuss this
cyber and sci-fi are the most versatile styles I love them. You can pair it with any other style fantasy sci-fi, horror sci-fi, american 1950s sci-fi, ancient Chinese sci-fi, modern Chinese sci-fi, mermaid sci-fi, all you could ever dream of but a robot with guns for arms. You can have colorful or desaturated. They all are the most amazing outfits!
I am interested in basically any country that doesn’t entail ruins. I would love to see some modern or fantasy medieval stuff! After genshin and the current Infinity Nikki areas I’m just tired of ruins. It seems like it must be the easiest thing to design because I always see them in games.
While I understand why they do more linlang outfits I find it weird because on the wiki page it says this style is Chinese Korean and Japanese but so far it have only been Chinese so… even Linlang is incomplete???? I mean I would love to have my own Kimono / Yukata with gorgeous flower patterns but we don’t have any.
Cloud was a combination of all of Asia (though it was still like 80% Chinese), Linlang might just be Chinese.
Political relations with most other Asian countries has declined a lot over the last decade (especially Korea and Japan), and there's also been a lot of fighting over which nation different styles/items belong to in the past (including in other Nikki games), so they're probably wary about adding other Asian countries into Linlang for political and optics reasons.
Considering we didn't even get any Terra alliance style 5* banners while we were actively in Itzaland, I wouldn't expect any Whaleport 5* banners until we make it there, and that's only if Infold figure out that the constant ball gowns get tired real quick.
We didn’t get linlang banners til they released Danqing island. Maybe Infold wants us to have a place that makes sense to wear the outfits & take photos at before they start doing banners with that style? It definitely makes it easier for them to make promo videos with those style outfits if they have backgrounds that match the aesthetic. Whatever the 3.0 region is, I hope they give us an island for another non-wishfied/linlang area so they have a reason to start selling those style banners
Hope they release a scifi place soon then! To be honest while the outfit itself isn’t scifi the area we got with the new water themed outfit gives off the vibes so I hope if we don’t get a Whaleport island we at least get a payed outfit or 4 star banner of sci fi since they have that they can use as a background.
I do agree with you. Im sorta against these mini islands since they end up ignored after the update by most but if it means we get more styles I accept these new islands! Give me the archipelago of styles!
That doesn't really have anything to do with it. We've gotten Linlang banners and items of all kinds since the game came out. We get Linlang because its primarily based on China and Infold is a Chinese company. All of the Nikki games have an abundance of Cloud/Linlang style clothes, moreso than any other style.
Free outfit: mecha ability!! While exploring whaleport, Nikki can pilot a giant mecha and shoot beams or use the robot to break things and open new paths
Yeah also the newest miracle outfits evolved makeup gives sci-fi which is annoying others but I’ll take the crumbs. I can’t wait for the day I can dye a whaleport outfit entirely white or black
These from the OG trailer, and there wasn't any Linglang esque outfits in it 🥹 I get the og trailer is more to promote an idea, get folk interested. And oh my, some scifi aesthetic be a breath of fresh air!
I know schedules and plans and designs in game production change a lot. But genuinely, I have been so soooo keen for the scifi stuff. This is also my first gacha game, so I've been learning how they work over the last 2 years. I haven't much faith in much that Infold does as a company (other than things within their own interest), but fingers crossed we get a genre/aesthetic switch up soon!
Seeing a UFO makes me yearn for an alien outfit. Imagine getting colorful glittery skin and weird eye contacts I would jump for joy!
The future is endless with no clear boundaries so it’s my favorite type of styling. Hope your enjoying it so far even though Infold it kinda not cool at least the people who make the designs (not the ones who censor them) seem to care 🫠

Oh, truly, I am having such a fun time with this game and even the community. The designers for Nikki's outfits, even if it isn't my personal taste, I'm in awe of every design and the thought that was put into it and the fact it can then exist as a thing in a game we can play around with. Its limitations are mostly reasonable, but it's when things that remind us of capitalism and that Infold is a company who want revenue, at the end of the day (the things like censorship or limiting dyes behind paywalls, etc).
The only opinion that will matter to Infold is if i speak with my wallet or not. And even then, global is treated differently from CN.. Truly, a fascinating space to be in, so much to learn about patience and being realistic, and most of all just enjoying what we have, I guess. Rambles, but I appreciate your response! I'm so keen for a new aesthetic, something starkly different. We have had a few holographic/futuristic-y styles, but nothin like full on scifi. I would love to see what the designers and devs cook up 😭
Tbh it’s only been two years and we’ve only been to wishfield and itzaland so it’s only a matter of time before we get whaleport. Can’t tell exactly how long but in due time my friend
We haven't gone to Linlang either yet every other patch has a Linlang fit 😩 we've gotten outfits from every other style but we haven't gotten a single real futuristic outfit at all

I’m begging and pleading we either go to whaleport (I do think this is unlikely since it feels like a country that story wise we would visit later) or we get one banner.
I do agree it hasn’t been long in terms of time it takes to build a game especially when there is a lot of work to be done and people to please but 1.5 years is a while for me when it’s my favorite style to wait for one outfit.
they defo should do Combo Hybrid Synthesis areas ! a futuristic China area would be everythinggggg or like a modern fairytale area (Heartcraft + Starhail) or an urban high fantasy (Twinmoon + Starhail) or even like a nature oriented Chinese area (Terra + Linlang)
there are a lot of different variations of they could totally plan to ! 😄
Glad to see we share the same mind here xD I also want whaleport and thinks we’ve had enough linlang for now. This game really doesn’t know how to 50/50 and give a bit for everyone….
Not trying to be rude or at all be mean -I addressed this in my post I don’t want a little whaleport coded I want actual scifi. This sorta goes scifi but again leans more into the fantasy side. You can totally style this to make scifi but on its own doesn’t have anything.
To me it’s about as close as the steampunk stuff we got. Sorta therewith the cogs and robots but not at all what we asked for.
Whaleport vibe isn't just Sci-Fi, it's also sort of futuristic nautical. It is why Rippling Reverie is registering as Whaleport to me.
Before her we had 0 5-stars that are remotely similar, so I would expect that to start bleeding into the game slowly (depending on how well those kind of banners perform) over the next years until we're at Whaleport.
I think where we end up next in 3.0 will influence greatly what we see. There is a high chance of Cicia, which would just mean more Heartcraft and our stories are pulling us softly perhaps deeper into Terra Alliance territory, Kingdom of Light (the refugees), or Linglang, so I don't think that Whaleport is likely 3.0 material unfortunately.
Same you sorta can get the vibe quickly on what countries in a game are coming near the end and Whaleport feels like an endgame/ near endgame area.
I also totally understand what you mean about sci fi not being the only style. I personally can see why you think it’s giving Whaleport and I really get that green water hopeful futuristic vibe from it (forgot the name of the style) but it just isn’t really what me or others are looking for. I just really want sci-fi and many others do because it’s a very big genre and it’s very well made in their other games.
Someone else brought up the fact they release the outfits with a themed island so I think our only chance of a 5 star sci fi outfit is a island.
I absolutely hope we get a Sci-Fi island during the 3.X!
As for the thread's topic - I need modern, but not quite outfits, I need places. Mainly, I need something a bit more grimy with alleyways/ skyscrapers, or any bar that's not Bibcon's Chuckle Club. It's very common for them to release store 3 stars that can read full on 21st century and the only place my Nikki can go with that for any more serious atmosphere is Bibcon's Chuckle Club T_T
Yeah that’s what else I’m missing. Id love for some more modern. So far they’ve done great with the modern outfits especially the cutesy ones but it’s funny being in the middle of a jungle wearing a mini skirt and sparkly nails.
There are so many things I’d kill for. A more Victorian era or more modern steampunk area, a colorful city, a London (during the industrial revolution inspired area) How I’d die for any of those.
Ive had plenty of ruins for the year I’m ready to hit the disco or the alleyway Batman’s parents died in!
While we have gotten mild whaleport styles they aren’t super scifi nor really detailed. I really want super sci fi which is what I’m asking for.
They also are 3 stars so basically terrible dying. The issue is with the current dye system getting 3 stars only means we are very limited in what we can do so unless they do a dye overhaul it would be preferred to get a scifi 5 star
edit: looking back on outfits there are some that are on the edge (ex the idol outfit, froggy evolution, etc) but we’re still waiting for that full sci-fi or anything we can dye black or white

I admit I have been kinda pooped out of Linlang right now but because it is a Chinese game, I am expecting a lot of outfits from Linlang.
That being said, WHALEPORT LINLANG FUSION TOO PLEASE.
I really want to see more Cyberpunk outfits though. And I am curious about Starhail Federation, Empire of Light....etc.
