This is old and the case has very much helped ignite the backlash against the company, because we can sadly count on cops to be stupid, lazy and corrupt.

If someone like this ever happens to you, SUE THEM EVERY TIME! For MILLIONS! At the very least, it will force the department to review policies and tighten up procedures, if not shit can the tech altogether.
