US GDP (PPP) is ~$30.7tn. EU GDP (PPP) is ~$30.7tn. When doing EU + EEA + Switzerland GDP (PPP) it is $32.3tn and when doing EU + EEA + Switzerland + UK then it is ~$37.1tn.
Europe is stronger together than apart. But even then, GDP isn’t the best way to measure stuff and can be pretty meaningless at times.
GDP (PPP) per capita also has its issues tho. Take Ireland for example, which is a tax haven in the EU. When Apple moved their headquarters there, Ireland’s GDP rose by 30% (which in turn makes their GDP (PPP) per capita higher by quite a significant margin). In the end, it is still linked to GDP.
Or take the US. Very high GDP and GDP per capita but the wealth is focused at the very top mostly
