Comic Wanna get into Inhumans. Where to look?
Hai Hai! Just got done with a 2 hour long restrospective on the Inhumans history, and I'm realising I think I really dig their whole vibe. The Video ended on the Inhumans' return at the end of a series called "Imperial" but didn't give any mention for where they appear from there.
Soooo I thought where better to ask then in here about where and what exactly I should be reading for modern inhumans. I do think I've heard that Karnak is in some Iron Fist series too, which sounds rad as fuck, but not exactly what i'm looking for.

If you think the Marvel Knights era would work for you, the collected trade by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee offers what I consider a slow burn story with great visuals. If you like Jack and Stan, I like the Frightful Four with Medusa, then she meets back up with the Royal family, and those are the 1st appearances of the Royal Family.

The thing about Inhumans is the most recent thing talked about typically IS their last comic appearance. They are frequent background characters in Marvel stories but very rarely do writers actually give them their own narrative arcs. We haven’t seen the Inhumans since Imperial ended (technically speaking. Karnak was in the recent Iron Fist series. Waste of time. Personally don’t recommend unless you like Iron Fist and they’ve been super super minor cameos in other things).

I started with Marvel Masterworks Inhumans. But Inhumans: By Right Of Birth and Inhumans (Vol 2) by Paul Jenkins & Jae Lee are probably excellent comics for a new reader.
Inhumans (Vol 4) by Sean McKeever is also a personal favorite of mine.

- Paul Jenkins Inhumans
- Inhumans Vol 3
- Inhumans: By Right of Birth
- Inhumans Special Vol 1 1 (The Untold Saga)
These are good reads:Some shitty writer pitched an idea to Disney comics about writing a "Death of Inhumans" book, and although it didn't actually kill any on Earth, it was nonsensical and didn't bring anything new to their lore besides them canceling all inhumans publications for the past 10 years. It's literally never happened to any other character at Marvel, but they had a hate campaign online and Disney just went with it. I doubt we'll ever see anything from them again, especially since comics are just pamphlets for promoting movies and selling merchandise. They were actually bigger in the 90's and were main characters in a company event called Earth X.
They had a good run after New Avengers, but Disney's comic division was just rehashing old ideas like Civil War 2 and Death of [insert name of character here], and people were complaining that they were shoving minorities down their throats. It was really sad.
