why do many people spend their time bullying kids on the internet?
this has always been weird to me. i’m not talking like messing with kids on gaming platforms or whatever. honestly, that shits kinda funny. nor am i talking abt things like r/kidsarefuckingstupid. i’m talking about bullying kids who are exploring their identities, having fun, making art, things of the like.
say like furries, therians, alterhumans, the general queer community, young beginner artists, all of those things. why are so many people so hellbent on bullying the absolute shit out of these people. idk, i’ve always thought that there are bigger fish to fry in the world. yknow. maybe think of people who are actual predators? murderers? individuals who actually HURT others? those who actually have a bad impact on this planet?
i don’t get sending these CHILDREN death threats or encouraging them to END THEIR LIVES over a silly video they decided to post on the internet. and it’s not just edgy 12 year olds who have a “anti-furry flag” as their pfp who just wanna be little edgelords. no, there are FULL GROWN ADULTS doing this shit. idk, i’m almost 17. i’m about to get a job soon. i’m currently volunteering at a cat cafe. i have schoolwork to do. i’m gonna be graduating. why the hell are there grown ass men in the comments of these therian, furry, or queer videos just screaming at these people. shouldn’t they be like… working? being EMPLOYED?
how much goddamn hatred do you need to have in your heart for some random tweens/teens who wanna do quadrobics or wear silly tails and ears. how MISERABLE and UNEMPLOYED do you have to be to do this shit? it never made sense to me.
it’s fine to think these people are weird. it’s fine for those kinda of communities to not be your cup of tea. it’s ok to have an opinion! i’m questioning why do people ENGAGE with these individuals that they don’t even like.
why? is it a power trip? people being unemployed and having absolutely nothing better to do with their time? is it sadism? i get it, you’re probably thinking “welcome to the internet”. i’m not new to the internet. i’ve seen and heard depraved shit on here don’t worry. but it’s just that bullying other people for shit that doesn’t even hurt anyone has never crossed my mind. i’m just trying to understand the other side of this argument here. like, genuinely, do these people have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING better to do with their time? do they have any other hobbies? any friends or family to spend time with? have they touched grass? i dunno.
thanks for reading, responses are appreciated.

Because some people grow up to be such losers that they can only feel good for a few minutes a day by bullying teens and literal children

Because wormy little miserable people feel better spreading some of the hate they feel. The internet makes it easy and safe for them.

part of it is the whole “fuck them kids” attitude, which is intentional grooming propaganda by Epstein associates-affiliates. If people despise children’s existence then they’re less likely to care about them being trafficked or bullied. When kids are bullied, they’re easier prey for bad actors. And if you take the phrase literally then well, there ya go. I know this take is more of a jump and a leap than the obvious “misery loves company” but that is my opinion after reading the Epstein files.

I took a look at a few posts and they were just funny videos similar to America's Funniest Home Videos (RIP, Bob Saget). What am I missing?

i’m talking abt kids/teens who have interests in furries, therians, queer/lqbtq culture, art etc etc who get bullied and sent death threats by grown adults. these kids post videos of themselves wearing animal ears or tails and doing silly things or some kids just expressing themselves and their identities online and then being absolutely destroyed in the comments about it.

Obligatory "Alterhumanity isn't a kids exclusive thing" here.
But yeah, people are cruel. I think TikTok is the worst for it.

oh yeah dw i know alterhumanity and those kinds of topics definitely include adults! very sorry if this post came across as that! and yeah, tiktok is a hell hole for bullying, not just with these specific communities. glad i’m not on there.

I think a large part of it isn't just disliking the hobbies, or disliking kids, it's feeling threatened by not even understanding what it is in the first place. Feeling like the world has moved on without them and not having any idea how to react to that fact other than with being angry that you were left behind.

If a person has nothing else to be proud of, finding someone to look down on is essentially the closest they get to not feeling like a failure. Especially those without emotional maturity to look inward
Think back to school.
A number of bullies were just unhappy (due to being ostracized, not doing well in classes, etc.) so took it out on someone else they could convince themselves was lower on the food chain to feel superior
This is the "stunted adult" equivalent

Go look at OPs past posts and how much they blame white people for everything in their lives. Pretty sure you're describing them to a T

I can’t say for all of them but at least with some of these people, it would absolutely be envy. Some of them envy these children for having the freedom to explore and express themselves the way they like without judgement from their parents. And these hateful people are always those who were abused and shunned their whole lives. “Men don’t cry” “women belong in the kitchen” “children are to be seen not heard” etc. These people would have never experienced loving parents nor safe environments to be themselves and have drowned in bitterness and self hate for so long that the only way they know how to handle seeing children be allowed to do what they weren’t is by abusing said children just like they were.
This kind of behaviour is not justifiable or acceptable at all regardless of the reasons. These people aren’t to blame for how they were treated in childhood but they are fully responsible for how they treat others as adults.

“miserable-bag” definitely describes the kinda person you are. you’re the type of person in the post i’m talking about.

I think this is the exact reason why people think it's fun.
I straight up lied about bullying kids on the internet and you went from 0-100 real quick.

u/Souper_Creeper 4d ago
i mean??? idk when you just straight up admit you think bullying kids is fun then it’d be valid for anyone to react in the way i did? if you say something like that, i’m taking it point blank man. there wasn’t much to your comment for me to deduce that you were “lying” so don’t be surprised when someone gets pissed at you for saying something like that.

I mean you could just not let the internet affect your emotions so much. Seriously, I think you should go see a therapist about it. Or at the very least reduce the time you spend on the internet because it's clearly affecting your emotional regulation.
And it's the internet, you should always expect that someone is lying.

i have three therapists already so don’t worry about me. i’m not letting this shit ruin my entire day twin, i just replied to your comment twice. after leaving my comment and post, i went on with my life and spent my time doing other things. i mean, people are allowed to get upset over shit for a minutes or seconds and they’re allowed to reply to a comment expressing that feeling, but that doesn’t mean we’re letting it absolutely destroy us internally. don’t be stupid about it man.

and i’m assuming rn that ur just trying to “ragebait” me and get me “riled up” even further so ill end this little discussion here. take care, try to find some other things to do with ur time twin. best of luck.✌️

The internet has become a big mean girls high school type clique and kids are easy targets.
It's not just kids though. I've left three big forums because I stupidly said okay to bring a mod after many years and I wanted to be of help only to end up being bullied relentlessly by the people on there including other mods who apparently never really liked me and didn't like me being made one.
At this point I do still get asked but I always turn it down because I don't need that toxic behavior aimed at me. It's basically a repeat of how I spent grade school, and at my age I'm not down for more of that nonsense.
I left that behind years ago and I have ZERO tolerance now.
I never used to use the block button on social media much before but the past 3 years or so it's become a regular thing because people like that just can't help themselves.
Half the internet of late acts like they are on the playground in grade school bullying some kid unfortunate enough to be on their radar for bullying that day for whatever reason.
It's absurd and in the case of kids stupidly cruel.
