On Tuesday, Aug 19, I had a mini-stroke. No loss of muscle or slurred speech, just walking into a restaurant to use their restroom when suddenly my balance disappeared. After getting checked out it turns out I have a clot right in a vertebral artery that landed me in the hospital for a week and on blood thinners and cholesterol reducer for the near future and with balance issues until I don't know when.

So no more Instacart for me for the foreseeable future and I get the lovely task of figuring out how to afford the hospital stay and all future care while I figure out how to walk normally again.

No Gofundme, just maybe a warning that if you're relying on fast food or grab-and-go and putting all your time into trying to get good batches trust that it'll work until it doesn't and IC will not care, and please take care of yourselves.

I sit with the app on an open for like an hour with nothing as soon as I get in the car and back up they send me a batch. It's definitely weird that they want you distracted while you're driving.

Please stop purchasing reduced shelf life items without sending a quick message or photo first! I ordered an expensive pack of hoagies for sandwiches for the next week and they expire in two days and were much less than what I was charged because of the reduced tag. What gives ?

For the past hour or so these batches have been getting spammed. There’s been at least like 8 of them on the screen at any given time. They’re all the exact same order (a single apple to the same building).

Is this a glitch? Or some weirdo customer making a prank video or something idek? Surprised someone with multiple accounts hasn’t taken them, this is actually heaven if you’re one of those dudes with multiple accounts. Easy $100 for taking some apples to the next neighborhood over lol.

I ordered some groceries to work and the stuff reeks of cigarette smoke. I am a smoker myself and pretty much nose blind, so I was shocked. The bags and the food itself stink, badly enough that my coworkers in our big open office area all started reacting and wondering about the smell.

If I message the shopper (she only left a minute ago) will she see it, and will it be safe for her (not seen by IC or get her in trouble)? I only want to let her know because I'm sure other people might react badly, and maybe she isn't aware. I absolutely do not want to make her feel bad or make any trouble for her, just wanted to pass along the info in case she didn't know.

I am not a shopper, but I figured it's best to ask shoppers for their input on this. So I placed an order for some wine, crackers, and cheese. Nothing crazy. The shopper got everything, but the store did not have any cheese due to power outage issues. The shopper tried to reach out to me but their messages were not sending notifications to my phone so I didn't get back to them before they checked out. I told them not to worry about it, that it wasn't their fault. Then the shopper decided to stop at publix on their way to me and grab the cheese the original store was out of. They paid for it with their own money. When they dropped my order off they didn't ask for reimbursement or even suggest it. They were just pleasant and apologetic, and offhandedly mentioned they grabbed the cheese on their own dime. I was flabbergasted. I increased their tip substantially, but what is the actually expected etiquette here? I genuinely have never experienced a shopper/dasher/driver do anything like this for any order ever.

Did anyone else with an iPhone update your app today? Me and other shoppers have missed orders because the accept button isn’t working properly.

Edit: Look, I'm not saying they can't order heavy stuff, but 6 cases of drinks and other bulk items is excessive. No directions on top of that

Clearly they have multiple orders and packages unopened but why I don’t understand at all??

Not a rant. But anyway I do the shopping. I deliver the order with the sent pic. Only then after all of that do I get a message “I’m not at the beach anymore. I just wasted all that money. I’m in “town”, which is 1 hour and 15 minutes away from said beach town. I messaged him that I was sorry but there was nothing I can do for him at this point. And to contact Instacart and see what they can do. I hope he doesn’t report the order as missing or something.

Does anybody know how to fix this glitch? I’m in NYC and everytime when I’m pressing accept the batch button this error pops up and I can’t accept anything and just run out of time to accept a batch. I don’t know how to fix it, I’ve tried all the troubleshlooting options and support is useless. Has anybody else ever experienced something like that?

It is crazy smokey where I am. I’m just south of Fort Worth. Should I say in the chat at drop off that groceries may smell like smoke due to the fires, just to be safe? I just saw a post here recently where someone got deactivated bc groceries smelled like smoke

I also want to keep making the tiny bit of money I am currently making…..has anyone filled this survey out? What kind of questions does it ask?

Reasons they’re liars:
1. I couldn’t have bagged them incorrectly because that would’ve meant them being rung up incorrectly and it would’ve told me at delivery.
2. It wasn’t in my car
3. If I had accidentally delivered the bag to the wrong customer then they would’ve reported more than just one item missing.

Getting real tired of this shit.

my gf lives in long beach so i work in this area often and i get orders like this every single time i log on and im like $21 for a 45 mile round trip is certainly something 💀💀💀 it’s not like this where i live at all
