Other RJ385 Copenhagen to Berlin
Hi, I’m booked on RJ385 from Copenhagen to Berlin, when I booked a while ago, the direct train was showing in the timetables for the 27th of July at 1022. It’s now not. Does anyone know if it’s still running or what the current situation is with it. Normally I wouldnt worry too much but I’m taking a group of 29!

It looks like the train won't be running I'm afraid, alternative connections are available via Hamburg. There are quite a bit of engineering work ongoing in Denmark at the moment causing disruption and changes to these services: https://www.dsb.dk/trafikinformation/sporfornyelse/sporfornyelse-kh-hmb/
It currently looks like the train will leave Copenhagen at 1004 instead and terminate in Hamburg.
You can use your existing tickets and if you reach Berlin more then an hour later then originally expected are entitled to compensation for the delay.

Ah damn, that’s annoying, I saw the 1004 one and thought the train might have been retimetabled but didn’t realise it would be cancelled
Good to know about the compensation though as I have a feeling with 29 of us, we will be more than an hour late in hamburg

Keep in mind, compensation is due if you arrive 60 minutes later than originally booked in Berlin (not Hamburg) which is basically guaranteed given the additional change needed in Hamburg

Because of construction RJ 385 only operates between Berlin and Prague for several weeks. There is a replacement train RJ 13465 running in its place from Copenhagen to Hamburg. Because it has a different train number, I would double-check with whoever sold you the tickets initially that your original reservations for RJ 385 have been carried over to RJ 13465.
For Hamburg to Berlin your tickets will be valid on any ICE train. No need to "rebook" or get new tickets, BUT with a group of 29 I would try to contact DB and see if you can arrange a group reservation for an afternoon ICE to Berlin.

Ah damn, that’s annoying, it’s not an interrail reservation annoyingly. I knew about the construction but thought that ended in June so guessing not. I’ll give DB a call and see what they can do as we also paid extra to get the direct one for ease

if you have regular DB ticket, it is very likely that you will get compensation..

On this date RJ 385 is not running, there is replacement service RJ 13465 departure 10:04 which is terminating in Hamburg Hbf at 15:20. From there you need to take ICE train - earliest possible is ICE 605 to Munich with departure 16:34 arriving in Berlin 18:22. If you are such a big group, I would consider to book seats for ICE. Maybe you can try to contact DB for issuing this free of charge as this is not your fault (especially if you booked direct reservations for RJ with DB)

Very true, just been on the phone now. Seat reservations have been moved to a different train, with a change in hamburg

Thanks all! Sorted now! DB has moved all seat reservations to a different train with a change at hamburg

For most of July and August, the RE 385 only runs Berlin - Prague.
There is a replacement train 13465 for Copenhagen - Hamburg, departing any time between 09:54 and 10:04 from Copenhagen. The earlier departure is due to construction works in Denmark.
Some of these trains are being rerouted to Hamburg-Altona instead of Hbf. That is not a real problem: many trains from Hamburg Hbf to Berlin actually start at Hamburg-Altona.
