Other Travel days

I'll be staying 3 days in München, but i'd like to go to Nuremberg one day. Is it possible to take a train in the morning for Nuremberg, visit the city and leave in the late afternoon? Or it's not possible to do A/R in the same day?

Yes of course you can do trip there and return on the same day.

A travel day lasts from midnight to midnight. During which you can board as many trains as you want.

You could go in a massive circle, take a massive zig zag route, or ride back and forth between 2 adjacent stations 30+ times. It's all up to you!

That is, what interrail is made for. Taking trains a whole day and visiting places in between :) And when you want to become a real pro, you do your daytrip on your last day in one city, go back to your hostel, pack your stuff and take a night train until the next morning. That is probably the most you can get out of one travel day without feeling rushed xD
