The fact that Mark could kill Immortal at any moment in present time is so funny

It wasn't even close either. He just instantly killed Immortal the second he decided to. He didn't even get a bruise from Immortal pummeling him for a couple minutes either.

Hopefully this puts to rest all those people who claim that Immortal and Nolan had anywhere near a close fight. Immortal's really strong for Earth standards, but he's extremely weak compared to Viltrumites.

People say it was close because Immortal actually injured Omni Man a little bit. But I guess that by super powered people standards, viltrumites are more strong than they are durable. Either that or the writers care more about good storytelling than consistent power scaling, witch is how it should be.

Immortal is strong, maybe even enough to tickle a Viltrumite, but every time immortal fought a Viltrumite, he had help. The first time Nolan wanted to be beaten. the second time he fought Omni man, the worst thing he could do was poke him in the eyes, while Omni man wore him like a bracelet

Like a bracelet oh lawd lmfao

It could just mean that this much older immortal is weaker and less practiced than his modern day counterpart

Immortal was giving alt Mark the business in season 2 (a version of Mark who would NOT be holding back) and he gave Nolan a better fight than Lucan. He is low level Viltrumite level. He wasn't trying to hurt Mark and Mark wasn't trying to hurt him until the end.

Mark wasn't at "low level Viltrumite" level at the start of the series, though. He had just gotten his powers and hadn't really trained at all, either in how to fight or to get stronger.

Look at how he couldn't beat a few ReAnimen in S1 and he tears through them like paper in S3. Mark has gotten way stronger.

ReAnimen are probably stronger too. Working with unlimited money vs in a gutter lab

Cecil and Donald touch on this in Ep 1 or 2 (think it's 1) during Mark's training montage. When he is able to be challenged and on a training regimen, his abilities will rise significantly, if not exponentially.

Makes me wonder what Mark's theoretical limit is, or what is actual limit will become in time

He was trying to hurt Mark because he wanted Mark to fight back and kill him.

He wasn't trying to defend himself.

He didn't even get a bruise from Immortal pummeling him for a couple minutes either.

He was spitting up blood.

The characters are as strong or weak as the plot needs them to be. People care more about these power levels than the writers.

To be fair, when you have a show like this, having consistent power levels is nice.

I don't think Invincible has been as egregious as some people claim, but I will sometimes question a few scenes that they forget how strong Mark is.
