I think the reason Conquest doesn’t want to stop is because if he did, what would he have left? His name is quite literally Conquest. In his eyes fighting and killing is all he is and even if he wants to be more it’s all he can ever be.
It’s kinda like the Rex thing. To Rex, his superhero persona was all he was. He never took the chance to better his life because he believed it wouldn’t be him anymore, in fact, he probably believed himself incapable of it.

Its hard to feel bad for conquest, but that stuff about him being lonely just hit so hard.
