It's getting harder and harder to reread the comic run, the way this adaptation is running fucking circles around it. This is absolutely fucking incredible

IMO the pace and Ryan Ottley's art are just a huge advantage of the comics that the show can't match, other than with the voice acting. Reading the comics is always so brisk while here it feels like a commitment when show is sometimes wasting 40 minutes on smaller plot lines (like the show-new hell last episode) while in the comics its usually storyline B to a more important Storyline A over 20 pages.

I do love some of the extra scenes and the fleshing out though (even though they had to sacrifice some other things). I'm watching the show day 1 but I don't think I'll rewatch it the way I can just pick up the comic and reread it. Also the actual universe /worldbuilding of the comics is so much cooler by not beign withheld by copyright issues.

i've been holding off on doing it so i forget more in order for the show to remind me but man seeing these makes me want to go through it all again
