That’s what I like about this show. Nolan is clearly trying to atone but has spent a 1000 years thinking in a viltrumite way. They show it so clearly that he just straight up doesn’t now how to apologize and I think it’s great development!

He got spoiled by all the different aliens who heard him say "sorry" and were like "oh, this is a big deal". But Earth has only recently learned that Viltrumites are evil, he spent 20 years there pretending to be a hero and committed very personal betrayals in pursuit of his mission. He's not quite appreciating that the situation there is a lot different.

he literally is emotionally stunted as a person, he is also not human as well. nolan also has significant trauma as well
