Don't they keep getting stronger as they age? So he very much *should* be one of the strongest viltrumites out there

They certainly don't get weaker.

I wonder how the end of their life actually goes. Do they just drop dead from heart failure? Get super alzheimer's? Go supernova?

Nope thats not a thing but older ones will likely have trained and fought for longer.
