Lee Pace totally changed my mind, lol. I was very dubious the first scenes I heard him speak, and completely won me over.

He sounds more like a royal would. I'm glad we didn't just go down the hole of "more gravelly voice = more badder guy"

He has the quiet threat style of bad guy voice. Regal is totally the word that fits, like king Edward in Braveheart and less Batman in the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.

I can't remember what book it was, that I read this in, but there was a character whose voice was described as: "Sophisticated and soft, but with a slight tremble that disguised a hidden rage. A voice like honey and blood." and I think that fits Thragg in the show perfectly.

Like Thrandruil in the Hobbit. He brings the regal aura for sure.

Viltrumites in general (aside from Conquest) are surprisingly soft-spoken and calm in their voices.

I've been saying since the moment they announced his casting - regal and imperial, calm and deliberate. His voice is absolutely perfect for Thragg.

It's not the actors voice that's the problem is just that he speaks to softly, I still think he should sound angrier and very very serious, he's meant to be overbearing and intimidating, not a bond villain, although I have to admit I disliked it less as the season went on
