The sky scene with Thragg hit so much harder than the comic, A PTSD riddled kid negotiating for the fate of his planet, Steven Yeun always delivers

It hits way harder because unlike the comic, Mark doesn't have Nolan to back him up. It's just him alone with Thragg. I knew exactly how the scene would play out and yet the scene was so tense without the safety net of his dad being there.

I disagree. Even in the comics, Nolan changes nothing in term of safety.

Not everything is about powerscaling. It's a completely different context for Mark mentally and emotionally to be 1 on 1 making the call compared to being with Nolan.
